Grief from the wife....

Recently while at a gathering with friends, everyone decided to show off their cell phone pictures of their kids. When it was my "turn" the only pics I had to show were of my 911. The wife wasn't amused, called me an ass and said I was only person on the planet with photos of my "cherished" car. In my defense I do have lots of photos of both my wife and kids on my desk. When I do take cell pics, it's to share with the guys, not my inlaws or my wife's girlfriends.

The question is, am I the only one in the crowd?

Who the f*ck cares. I don't have kids. I show the pictures of my cats and my cars. If people want to judge me based on my cell phone photo album, I really don't give too much of a schit about their opinion(s) anyway.

If your wife showed the pics of your kids, why the hell would it matter if you had 'em or not. Everyone else already saw 'em. What, is your phone going to show 'em after they grew the second head or the third eye in the middle of their foreheads? It's the same kids right? Why would anyone care to see more pictures of the same kids, unless the pictures were extremely interesting or captivating for some reason?

Well, I don't have a fancy cell phone so it's no issue for me. But I do have 6 kids and 12 or 13 (not really sure) grand kids and carrying pics of all of them in my wallet was dumb. So..........I carried my favorite picture of our youngest daughter...and no others. Took a bit of flak for it, but not for long.

Tell your image conscious wife that part of her head must believe that something so superficial as carrying pictures is actually important or that it says anything about love or parenting. Then pass on my instructions that she remove that part of her head from her own anus so that she might think a tad clearer...instead of calling you an ass.

Oh yeah, good luck with the divorce settlement if you follow my advice.

Her reaction is likely not about your lack of pictures of the kids but your over interest in the Pcar, like many of us. The kids may just be a manifestation of the issue.

For example, yesterday, I wanted to share with my wife, someone's mpeg posting of a cold start problem - a short video that was right on point to a problem I am dealing with. She says, "Why don't you focus on something's that's more important". Hah! As if. Well I quickly dropped that subject and continued my quest for the solution.

No need to get her locked on and potentially turn negitive on to your interest in the Pcar. Take some pics of your kids and play into her interests.

That's not what I've found. High maintenance women are high maintenance. Or in other words, a beotch is a beotch. I know plenty of beautiful women who are low maintenance. Just depends what you want to attract and what you'll put up with...

I'm with Nostatic on this. I dated women who sound like your wife and they drove me crazy. Luckily for me, I married a wonderful woman 20+ years ago who, to this day, has never pulled that kind of guilt trip on me - ever. It's just not her style to berate me for being, well, ME.

well, my experience is that it isn't really generational. Like I said, a pita is a pita. I've dated 30-something and 40 something women, and some were high maintenance and others were. Looks didn't correlate. I don't date 20-somethings but I know a few. And when I was teaching I had some total hottie 18-22 year old students (no, I didn't date them) that were not high maintenance at all. But ymmv...
