Paul Wolfowitz scores again!

This guy is literally amazing. He is a verified chickenhawk in the best tradition of John Foster Dulles and Dick Cheney. Although he never served in the military, and probably never had a street fight in his life, he never met a war or invasion that he did not like. A former colleague was reported to have said "Hawk doesn't do him justice. What about velociraptor?"

Wolfowitz proved his "agility" by working at the Pentagon under Jimmy Carter but quickly abandoning that ship when he saw the Reagan thing coming and...presto...became a GOP hawk! Among his conclusions while climbing that heirarchy was that the Soviet Union would invade the Middle East oil regions and he preached that we must support the despotic Royal Famil of Saudi Arabia.

He made so many incorrect calls that when he advised Bush on Iraq and the Middle East, Team Bush must have thought that Wolfowitz was surely due to be right about something. Wolfowitz actually testified prior to our Iraq invasion "The oil revenues of that country could bring between $50 and $100 billion over the course of the next two or three years. … We are dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction and relatively soon." Oops...wrong again.

As Iraq turned into a quagmire, President Bush promptly punished Wolfowitz by making him the HEAD of the World Bank. This was a bit strange even to insiders since Wofowitz had zero banking experience. However, it was rumored that Wolfowitz had walked into a bank once.

Naturally, that appointment also turned into a disaster. Wolfowitz not only proved his ineptness at the World Bank but he also found time to get his gal pal (Shaha Ali Riza) a cushy job and with a huge pay raise. This is the same woman who Wolfowitz's previous wife actually wrote a letter to president-elect Bush saying that Riza could be a national security threat. After a short soap opera when many at the World Bank even wore ribbons to protest Wolfowtiz' poor management and morals, he agreed to resign in disgrace.

End of story? Hardly. Wolfowitz quickly got another cushy position at the American Enterprise Institute. But the best was saved for the latest: Wolfowitz will become chairman of the International Security Advisory Board, which reports to the US Secretary of State. The panel is charged with giving independent advice on disarmament, nonproliferation and related subjects.

The only thing that I can figure is that ole Wolfy has some pics of President Bush in some very interesting sexual positions!

If anyone has ever deserved to be ass-raped and murdered in an Iraqi prison, it's that great American.

Yeah--Wolfie really stuck it to us. Cost us $600 billion. But no more Saddam. That's great, but why didn't they leave after they declared "Mission Accomplished" on that aircraft carrier? That was about $580 billion ago.

I just wish that I as young enough to be around in 30 or 40 years when all the documents are released per the connections and inter-relations of how Wolfowitz has managed to not be run out of the USA.

Wolfowitz and Cheney....my kind of guys. The fact that some of you hate them so just helps cement it for me.

That's because you do not have an immoral and incompetent fool like Wolfowitz working for you. Just imagine:

First he would be incorrect on all of his projections.
Then he would get you into a deal that's a sure loser.
Then he would make cost estimates that are horribly wrong.
Then he would insist that you get him appointed to head your local bank.
Then he would use that to get his floozie a big raise.
Then after getting fired he would later con you into getting him appointed to the local planning commission.

However, unlike the current president, you would never let that happen.....unless Wolfie had some pics of you also in compomising positions.

I lived in Jakarta in the 1980's when Wolfi was US Ambassador to Indonesia, and had many opportunities to meet the guy. He was someone who could offend absolutely everyone at a table with one sentence. The singularly most opinionated, insensitive, and thoughtless man I have ever met who held an ambassador's post. Quite incredible.

You would never accuse him of nuanced thinking. For Wolfi everything was black and white and he was always right. He listened to no one - and certainly not to any Indonesians when it came to Indonesian affairs. He was the caricature of "the ugly American" - and they made this guy an ambassador. WTF?

The entire world (except President Bush) is aware of his shortcomings but would anyone care to list some of Wolfowitz' redeeming qualities?

Simply put, Wolfowitz believes in pre-emptive military action against regimes or terrorist organizations who would do us or our allies harm.

Like I said, he is my kind of guy....... what you consider his "shortcomings", I consider his "redeeming qualities".

simply put, Wolfowitz is a selfserving weasel, who believes in coming up with big plans that make him look important, while not taking any responsibility whatsoever for the lives of the young men who get killed and disabled for life through the misinformation and planning he concocted and championed...

And since the net result of his work boils down to just that, mucho dinero spent, many lives wasted or permanently affected, and zero decrease in potential "harm", i conclude that what you consider redeeming qualities, is really criminal ignorance and incompetence

but hey, everybody get's to believe in what he wants... some believe santa claus is real... they usually figure it out by the time they are grown up though...

I don't know too much about him, but the fact the lefties here hate him means he must be ok.

I think that if you were to draw a line under his life right now and ask yourself whether the net result of Wolfowitz being on this planet has made the world a better place or a worse place - the answer would be screamingly obvious to everyone regardless of where they are on the political spectrum.

Wolfowitz has made a friggin mess of every thing he's touched, and he's an incredibly arrogant and intolerant and unlikeable person as well. And as someone else said, he has no backbone in a corner, but always ducks and weaves hoping to lay the blame for his mistakes on someone else.

If you have found any redeeming qualities in the man, I would love to hear what you think these are.

The worst thing about Wolfowitz is he spends taxpayer money faster and looser than any Liberal could ever hope to.

He's also not very good at planning.

other than that I guess he's ok.
