Dumpster Diving for 20K

Yes sir dumpster diving can be fun and profitable. The other day I stopped at a Goodwill Store here in town and saw a nice Datrik golf bag for $60, to be marked down on Wednesday to 1/2 price for us seniors. Well I went back to pick up the bag and guess what I found in the paintings bin. Yep a Hamaguchi dated 1965. While he is known for Etchings and Mezotints he did do oil paintings and the only record oI found of one was for $17,000 for a 9 X 14 or so. This is 24 X 30, sometimes things just jump out at you and say they are GOOD. So lets just say in the 20K neighborhood. Yep a $1.50 well invested.

More with the weak $dollar. That would pay for a nice Tokyo vacation. Sushi, saki and gaishas walking on your back..

I thought it would be worth $100 to $200 or so. I knew it was professionally done. This also could turn out to a Jeffy Smith diaster to, and not be right. I need to do some more research. However I could always sell it to one of you Pelicans for $200 if all else fails.

Can you post a better picture? From the right side close to the frame is sure doesn't look like brush strokes from an oil painting
