964 Targa Lost, Chick Car Found

Pranged the 964 last week, decided to take a different tack concerning cars. I start work in DC in May and needed more of a city car. As much as I enjoyed the Targa the last three plus years and over 30K miles, practical matters.

Without further ado, my new to me, pre-owned, certified 2006 325i with just over 15k on the ODO:

You must have missed my post last week where I picked up a used 325i with a 5-speed and sport package! Great car. Snowed about 4 inches last night and with the traction control had no problem getting around.

I expected a Mini or Miata. That's not a chick car! Very nice, so are you still going to pick up another 911?

Kind of blends in with the crowd, but that can be a good thing when you are in a hurry.

That's not a chick car! (Well, ok, maybe the automatic is a little chicky!)

That's a good looking car, I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

I will...it took me 18 months to find the last one so I'll start slow. BTW, Matt, I retire in may so I'm still wearing the chickens.

I'm going to do a lap around the states in May and I'd like to stop by

Salvage on the car was over $20K USAA gave me a very fair settlement.

The body shop guy thought the range would be 4 to 5k. There were two guys for Pelican who were interested, but when the salvage got stupid, we waved-off.

If one of the two doesn't want my spares (for free) I'll post on the 964 board or call Ryan

I'm still in the same place, so you know where to find me. Maybe this time we'll have time for a beer.

Seahawk, I can't comment on the dependability of the E46 cars, but my E36 325i has been the best car I have ever owned. It is currently my daily driver for my 40 mile each way commute to work. It has 280,000 miles on it's original engine/trans/clutch and still runs/drives great.

Congrats on a great driver!
