Motorcycles, it's a sickness

I've been thinking about adding a R1200S to my growing little fleet of bikes. I been spending a few days on the R1100S/R1200 board and all really seem to like the bike alot. I think it would slot in really nice between my Ducati and my FJR. Of course then I'll have to add a British bike to the mix. Doesn't Peter Egan say everyone needs at least 4 motorcycles. Heres what the one looks like that has been keeping me up at night .

Anybody here have any experiance with these?

Per the Brit bike: I've got available a very nice 1969 Triumph Bonneville T120 R that has 5364 miles. As it came from the factory. Still has the original (as they say in England) silencers and tyres. But obviously it will not come cheap.

I had a R1100S.

My suggestion: Go for it.
You will be astonished just how good they are. Not the fastest, but the best.

That bike looks great. Makes you want to go for a ride, just looking at it.

Had two R1100RS's and far too many R100's to count. They have matured over the years and every evolution gets better and better.

They are more than fast enough to put a smile on your face and the ABS brakes on the R1100 saved my life twice. I still lust for another one... and may give up and buy another one someday.

Sweet. I was on craigslist today checking out what's available. There is an orange Triumph Speed 4 just like my old one that a guy has been trying to sell for a couple months. Also a Duc or two of interest. The R1100Ss have held their value pretty well...can't seem to find one cheap. The new BMW 800 twin looks cool as well.

Go for it, Mike. If I had any room left in the garage (and the toy budget) I would be looking seriously at one of those. I've always had a soft spot for the Beemers.

Todd, Are you thinking about two wheels again? If I didn't ride I would go nuts. As much as I love taking the car or bike to the track, I love being able to hop on the bike and go for a ride on any given morning. It really is great therapy.

Why would you possible want to sell that?

I can honestly see me getting there. This new bike would actually make it five bikes that are currently in the garage. FJR1300, Paul Smart, GSXR-1000, R1150RT and the new R1200S. Luckily the 911 is small, so there is room for a few more.

Jeff, it's funny I didn't really care for the R1150RT when I first got it, I thought it was underpowered and rather boring. But, after 103,000 miles on one, I've really grown to appreciate how well it goes about it's business. It handles really well for a big bike and considering how hard I've ridden it, it's been very dependable. With the R1200S being lighter and having about 30 more Hp. I think I'll really like it.

Yes, thinking of getting back on two. I've still got all my gear, except the jacket and boots that were destroyed in the crash. First is my road bicycle build. But I've looked a little online. I don't think a Tuono is in my future. Nothing good can become of that. I'm thinking more Falco or Futura, or a used Duc.

Wanna Brit bike?

I had 22 bikes, have got it down to about 15 now and still have to move 3 or 4 more....How about a 1978 Triumph Bonneville 750.....All stock (brown and gold, with brown seat)....Had a top end job less than 2,000 miles ago. Needs rear master cylinder. Priced to move quick at $3K....

As for the BMW, I've had a few older boxers. Very nice, but not real fast. Bet they've got that worked out on the one ur looking at.......

Seriously if you wanna go for a ride sometime to see how it feels again, let me know. We can take a couple of my bikes out and go for alittle ride. Let me know. I'm always up for ride.
