Congrats to the Pats on a great year. It was a valiant effort.

You have done the NFC well Giants fans! You deserve it, your New York Giants are World Champions once again! Very nice!

porsche4life 02-03-2008 06:08 PM

HAHA... thought they were gunna lose...

RickM 02-03-2008 06:09 PM

Yes, what a great game.

Sonic dB 02-03-2008 06:13 PM

Happy for the Giants...they are a tough team and played a great game.
Eli came through clutch and is a class act. How about that one spectactular play
when he got out of the rush and hit the bomb? wow

Amazing as hotdog as it was.

Awesome game! Congrats to NY!SmileWavy

Manning really toughed it out. Shaking that sack and connecting to Tyree was amazing!

TerryH 02-03-2008 06:17 PM

Tyree's catch was the game play. Two hands with ball against helmet on his back. Wow!

What a great game, but I like 1-0 baseball games too. Seems crunch time is all about defense and the Giants prevailed here.

pwd72s 02-03-2008 06:20 PM

Nope....Kevin Boss...#89, tight end, Giants...his 45 yard catch turned the tide...

Don't wanna say I told ya so, but . . .

and for the Patriots, a hearty:

Today they have a chance to prove it to all the knuckleheads and haterz who said stuff like "they'll be a 'one-and-done' team", "they'll get beaten by Dallas/Indy/San Diego/whoever".

Love the Patriots or hate them, they are good for the game and they're on the cusp of history here. It ain't over until the fat lady sings and I don't want to jinx them, but I have the distinct feeling that I'll be celebrating bigtime in Glendale Arizona in a few hours (getting ready to leave now).

I'll drink a toast to all the haters as Bill Bellichick hoists the Vince Lombardi trophy. May you all have a very, very long off-season to wallow in your misery and laughable wrongness of prediction. And may you finally come to appreciate the greatness of a quality team - possibly the best one to ever suit up. :)

Nineteen and Oh. Boo-yah.

Here it comes.

Get the checkbook out P-O-P ;)

I agree with Paul. I was screaming for Eli to throw to Boss. Thank goodness he did. The overthrow by Eli after he got chased out of the pocket could have negated any charge the Pats had left. Toomer (maybe it was Burress) had lots of daylight ahead of him.

I feel bad for the Pats fans. Just to think if it was my team, and I thought they were really that good for the whole season, but weren't as good as I thought in the end, that would be pretty deflating. Hang in there Pats fans. It's nothing to hold your heads down about. You have a decent enough QB to get back there again.

One of the most exciting games I have ever watched (excluding the Superbowl victories of my beloved Steelers ). Excellent officiating as well. Congratulations Giants fans for a well deserved win.

Drew001 02-03-2008 06:39 PM

Man, I was seriously wrong.
I believed that the Pats would destroy the Giants - on any given day any thing can happen!

I don't think for a second that Eli and the Giants can come close to this again, but today was their day to shine.

artplumber 02-03-2008 06:41 PM

Belichek didn't have enough "film" on the Giants to get the win.....

lendaddy 02-03-2008 06:43 PM

That was a really poorly played offensive game on both sides. Giving Eli MVP was a definite lesser of evils call.

The best players of the game were on the Giants defensive line, just excellent!

I never rooted for a team to lose as bad as the Patriots. You would of thought the Steelers won the Super Bowl again by everyones reaction around my house when they lost. The better team won also, at least tonight. Man being unbeaten until the Super Bowl has got to bring on some kind of pain I don't want to know. OUCH.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat5.gif

Tyree's catch will be remembered as one of the best clutch catches in SB history. I'm talking shear athleticism, not momentum swinging. Not taking anything away from Boss, but you can't compare the two here.

The Patriots were dominant in the first half of the season, but not so much in the second half.

The only reason they got past San Diego in the AFC final was because SD's three most impt offensive players were hurt (Rivers hurt badly but still played, LT didn't play, Antonio Gates played but really couldn't). Had SD been at full strength, at least a couple of their 4 close range field goals would have been TDs. LT is the consensus best RB in the league, and not having him hurt badly. And, the Pats only scored 21 in that game. Not making excuses for SD, the Pats won the game fair and square, but it showed some weakness in the Pats.

The Giant played the Pats very tough the first time they played this year, and before today's game, the Giants were playing better and Pats worse.

Anyways, that was an awesome game, that last drive by the Giants was truly incredible.

The Pats didn't blow the Giants out last time up. This game was similar in many respects.
