What a grandstanding piece of schit Arlen Specter is. I heard the interview with Goodell on ESPN radio yesterday morning where he said that he was aware of no new evidence in the case and if any came to his attention, he'd look into it (as well he should as NFL commissioner).

Specter is simply trying to get his name in the press in an election year. Yea, this "issue" is suddenly relevant five months after Goodell closes his investigation and moves on, for the betterment of the NFL and everyone else - on the day of the Superbowl. Yea. Figure it out.

Typical g-damn politician. Worthless and abusing his position to puff himself up and stroke his own ego. He would've made a great cop.

Nice to know the Senate can spend time on crap like this and yet illegals keep flooding across our borders, our men & women keep getting their arms & legs blown off in Iraq and the economy is going down the p!sspot. How noble of them.

Yes i know that not all steroids are illegal. But some are and correct me if I am wrong, but I believe those too were included in the investigation.

All I am asking is what legality is at stake in the Patriot's case?


Also if the NFL wants to re-open the cheating stuff, by all means please do, I would like to know the truth, but I find it disgusting that the Senate is involved. Aren't we in the middle of a war and the start of a recession?

I'm guessing the mega Million$ involved in legal betting out of Vegas. I believe the SB is the most highly betting event there is. Someone cheating would have a much bigger effect than a guy using PE drugs.

The senate's authority comes from granting the NFL the ONLY exemption to the federal anti-trust laws.
