David Lindley. Ex guitarist for Jackson Browne. I think that was filmed back in the early to mid 80's. EL Rayo X had that song on it if I recall.

Excellent cover; the mellow ska beat works well. Best, Kurt

Markus - you're a Lindley fan??? A Pleemhead? He lives around the corner from me. I've seen him live many times - he's great live, and certainly unique!

Admired him since I was a kid. His 'Rag Bag' is one of my all time favorites.

He did an awesome benefit concert once in LA. Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Warren Zevon, El Rayo X. They played for 4 plus hours. He and Zevon did a 20 minute Werewolves of London.

That song is off the "Very, Very Greasy" album. I've seen him live a few times, once playing acoustic at Matilija Junior High auditorium. Great to see and very nice in person. Met him at the old Pomona Gun Show (he collects Japanese swords).

He must be pretty old by now. That video is from the middle of the eighties.

I saw him and Ry Cooder play here in Vancouver a few years ago... one of the best concerts I've ever seen. It was like one big jam session... they had a whack of gear on stage, and they'd just go and pick one each, then figure out which song they wanted to play, and then play the hell out of it.

David Do you happen to live in Claremont? I grew up there and went to school with Lindley's daughter. He and my dad were acquaintances. If I remember right they lived on Harvard or Yale between 12th and Foothill. Jess

Used to - Now Upland. But I drive down Harvard twice a day as my children go to school near Bonita and Indian Hill. Have you heard Dave's daughter sing? Wow - I heard her cover "How Can A Poor Man Take Such Times and Live" at a Folk Music Festival benefit @ Little Bridges. Wow Wow Wow!

Some folks are really good at what they do AND they seem to enjoy doing it. Lindley, Zevon, Cooder all fit in that category.

David Sycamore or OLA? I went to Sycamore from 72 to 78. Roseanne was her name, right? I haven't seen her sing for about twenty years. I think the name of her band then was "Four Non Blondes." Jess
