^^^^^^THAT is a very rare piece indeed!^^^^^ because it's a GMC and not Chevy and it has the correct matching sleeper is ridiculously cool^^^^^^^^

GMC's were the premium truck, the Cadillac of trucks if you will. The fact it was a commercial truck with a sleeper cab to boot - someone ponied up at a time when trucks, especially commercial applications were nothing more than utility device.

just checked out my friend's chassis for the 26 roadster he's been building.. every weld, ridge and bump sanded and polished mirror smooth.. every nut and bolt polished. every square inch front to back smooth as glass... even places that will never be seen.. even polished the anodized color off the hose fittings.. wow.. just wow.. can't even imagine the hours invested. once it's finished he'll probably drive it once or twice, sell it for 1/2 or less than he's got in it and start another as usual. and that's paint, not powder coat. there's a couple of custom made one of a kind parts he built like the 3 into four exhaust manifold

Small Plane Crash in Northern NJ

Really excellent flying skills by the pilots of this plane when the engine went out. There isn't much for landing areas in this neck of the woods. Only the pilots were injured, and they should come out ok.

I've had the privilege / pain of working on and with several flatty engines. The most potent 'street' engine was @290+" that was S.C.O.T blown, huge cam, late style Edelbrock aluminum heads, etc, etc. It was in a mid 50's Ford PU mated to a Tremec 5 speed that was very high end. My buddy bought it turn-key and did not like the engine at all. Tended to run on the warm side and according to him - "Didn't RPM at all - like all done by 5200 RPM's"

The guy that built it reportedly spent $18K with H&H flatheads and the engine made just over 300HP - which is a very impressive number for a streetable flat head that needed a little race gas + pump gas for love. Honestly it sounded like not like anything I have ever heard - almost like roller cammed small block - but deeper tone.

Ultimately my buddy traded the entire engine for a 383 SBC even up!! Effin ridiculous really................I was sooo pissed at him - I told him at the time I would have bought it outright and just stowed it away for future projects.
