a German chariot

it allowed the invading Visigoths to defeat the Romans (Italians, right) b/c it was much more robust and did not fall apart over bumps (endurance racing). It also had a very high-tech suspension (made of leather straps) allowing the bowman to fire arrows more accurately.

- this stuff goes way way back...
