During WWII. (The 'Mars' light on the front of the engine is hooded). Went West to LA, or North and East across Colorado and Kansas to Chicago at speed exceeding 100 mph. Looking North. The single tower is the station. The towers in the the background to the left are the 'Fred Harvey' Alvarado Hotel (gone). |

Cab-over and an MGA
Saw this in Jackson, MS, a few years ago. The rig was sitting under the awning of an abandoned '50s era auto dealership. Gals at the mini-mart across the road said it had been there for years. Left my business card on the truck windshield, no call.

Destroyed 3 mos ago this Sunday. Sitting at a red light at 2pm, bright sunny day. Rammed into by a woman from Philadelphia driving a Hertz rental and who admitted she was playing with the GPS and "was distracted". I bought the LR new in 2003, always maintained, 60k miles, and could drive up the side of a building.

Since I sold the old E last year, I had been looking for a toy/project. One of my neighbors had this. I bought it and had it on the road the next week. Just as much fun as I remembered. Best Les |
