Beyond that McCain didn't even get 40% of the Republican vote. He was the benefactor of a split electorate not the clear choice.

Then the Dems are going to have a female Clinton or an unknown black to choose from. People might say a lot of things but when they get behind that voting curtain the truth in their heart will pull the lever. Maybe we need to do like Italy and let the whole fuking crew run in one election and then keep narrowing it down until someone gets a majority! |

I would bet big money that if there were a referendum vote the American people would vote for a do-over on the primaries.
America loses no matter who wins this one.

I agree. I think that Bush has been certainly the most incompetent president in recent memory (he edged out Reagan and Carter only because he faced bigger challenges where he dropped the ball) but when you listen to the current crop from both sides...and then look at what they have coming at them...whoever wins may in the immortal words of Frank Barone ask "What contest in hell did I win."

Hispanic and senior citizens are voting for McCain/Clinton. McCain/Clinton just ran smarter campaigns. They knew what wedge issues to push.
