Speed Channel
It's about time they had something worth while in their program line up! It's great to see that they are still interested in the most competitive series with the most talented drivers in the world.
It's now time for the real Super Bowl. Tonight, we have a prelude to the 500. The Bud Shootout starts in about 30 minutes! I can't wait for Thursday's twin 150's. No work, no school, lots of beer and door to door racing at 190mph. I love it! Come on out you closet NASCAR fans! ![]()

It's gonna be another long year. I'm not sold on the COT formant yet. The Camry looks just like a Fusion, which looks just like a ????. Oh well, I like the shootout.

Most likely. These cars don't like the bumps at all it seems. I'm wondering if this new car has visibility issues. They sure wadded up some cars during practice yesterday. Time to go green!

Only good thing I can say about the Speed Channel is: I can go there and not see a single political face/ad that I've had to endure for over a year already.....Only 9 months till the election, we can have about a 3 month break and they'll start the crap all over again......

When Formula One starts up again then I will watch Formula One on Speed. 99% of the other crap that they put up there is just that, crap.
Look at the race that was on the news last night. Two of the drivers tapped each other 3 times in the race, wrecking several other cars in the process and endangering everyone's lives on the track, then finally ending up in a fist fight after the race. Real forking professional asswipes showing their true nature. Its things like this that keep me from ever watching Crashcar again.

Jr. wins the first race after joining a new team and the race is at Daytona where Sr. was killed. Seems rigged to me. Pro wrestling in spec cars.

I would like to see Nascar put Tony and Kurt behind the wall about two minutes before the 500 starts and do an hour long inspection. They might get their attention that way. Smoke thinks it his track and everybody is in his way. The twin 150s will be good. I am going over to Dega to run a couple of laps in a cup car in a couple of weeks. The cars we get to drive have been detuned a little so as not to exceed 175. It seemed Harvick learned more in the booth watching than being in a car.

Wow, tough crowd. I guess you guys would rather see a race where drivers never pass another car. I know there is a series out there where 911's and the like run and occasionally some paint trading goes on, sometimes worse. I would only assume that this is healthy for the sport, no? Come on Joe, look at all the professional sports out there, at one point or another, a fight is eminent. It doesn't have to happen, but it does. We live in a world with irrational people making irrational decisions, it's not limited to nascar. I bet it even happens in F1, instigated by a mean stare, on the grid. Lord knows they'll never see each other again on the track.

Exactly where is this series that cars don't pass? If you watchecd any F1 races last year you would not be saying that.

I watch Speed when Daytona, ALMS, Koni Challenge, Miata Spec racing, etc. is on. Nascar bores me, but I've never spent much time watching. Thank God, Alla, whomever for the DVR.
I sure wish they'd do more road racing coverage. I would think there would be an audience for things like vintage racing, etc. if the coverage was well done.

This is the Wide World of Wrestling on wheels. There is a reason why the WWF wrestlers all belongs to the actors guild as its all staged and is entertainment, not sport. When the drivers stop running into other cars and knocking them off of the track to get ahead, then thats a step ahead. When they race in the rain, like the other racing drivers do worldwide, thats another step ahead. When they stop driving in circles (I can teach a frigging monkey to go round and round) then thats a major step ahead. Fight is eminent? Well, Crashcar is the only racing format in the world where this happens, so would argue with you about that statement. Other drivers around the world are man enough to be professional on and off the track but these "good old boys" have not made it to that point yet. This is entertainment, not sport and the sooner that everyone realizes that its all rigged the better. Sorry but Crashcar is a farce... a very profitable one for the France family, but a farce never the less.

I live about 25 minutes from Daytona. I have been to my share of the races. I can tell you the following:
As an experience, it was fun. It was the only time in my life that while being OUTSIDE I was overwhelmed by cigarette smoke. It is absolutely, 100% controlled by NASCAR. When Dale Sr. wasn't close to the lead pack towards the end of one of the 500's they had a caution for debris on the track. There wasn't any. They didn't even pretend to have any pick anything off the track. They had a caution to bunch up the drivers. I would wager that the sponsors pay NASCAR for results. Why not? It's entertainment. The sheer amount of money people spend there is staggering. Knowing the above, it is so dull. Why watch when there is clear evidence that nascar is deciding the results.

+++1 Joeaksa...
Sorry NASCAR folks, but as we say in my old home town of Boston...NASCAR is GAAAHHHBAGE!...there's sooooo many road racing venues in the states not to mention all the European action, and all we see for days on end is something related to NASCAR!....not to worry though....NASCAR will burn itself out, as people are getting bombarded with it on every channel you turn to...ESPN, SPEED, CBS, NBC, FOX, TNT...next thing you know it will be on the FOOD Network! ![]() I would rather go fast through a tight corner(s) than on a straightaway any day! But thats just my 2 1/4 cents ![]()

That's a great point. Although I'm not sure they're worse than all the viagara, cialis, ED, going-too-soon, going-to-often, etc. commercials during NASCAR programs. Jeeezuz, does every NASCAR fan have some sort of problem with their penis?

And the cars.....
1. Spec racers with nothing in common with a "stock car". 2. Carbs still being used.
