I knew there was a reason I shopped at Pelican...
Brake caliper on my BMW started giving early warning signs of sticking on the drive to work this morning. I confirmed brake caliper temperature differences when I got out of my car at work. Over lunch, I made some calls and discovered that the FLAPS had genero-brand brake calipers for a few bucks cheaper than Pelican in stock. So I shrugged and said, "I'm sure it's built to OEM specs, and I can get it today, so it's a better deal." Unfortunately, the replacement part wasn't at all to OEM specs -- it's too narrow, so the pads don't fit around the rotor. It's NOT THE RIGHT SIZE! WHAT IDIOT DECIDED THIS WOULD FIT! GOOD GOD, MAN, HOW DUMB MUST YOU BE TO LABEL A PART FOR A BMW WHEN IT'S JUST PLAIN WRONG -- NOT CLOSE, NOT JUST A LITTLE OUT, IT'S NOT RIGHT!!!
(End Rant) Sorry. Had to get that out of my system. Thanks for listening. ![]() So I'm getting ready to place the order for the caliper from Pelican. I already know that the Pelican part will fit, because I used a Pelican caliper for the front right. I'm just kicking myself for wasting time at some other shop, when the only problem with Pelican is that I can't have it today. Aargh. Dan
