Roger Clemens
Anyone catch the MLB steroid hearings today? First of all, they are a huge waste of time with all the true problems in our nation.
But only our current Congress would be able to politicize hearings concerning a baseball star using steroids. Most of the Dems on the committee are on one side. Most of the GOP on the committee are on the other side. Only in America! Last edited by WI wide body; 02-13-2008 at 05:55 PM.. |

Not all Republicans are siding with the wrong side--Clemens, who is lying through his teeth. Just the usual dumb ones like Burton and a few others. I heard a Republican from Indiana going after Clemens. As for the Dems, they have dumb ones, too.

Who really knows Clemens is lying - the McNamee guy isn’t that credible. Looked like nothing but a bunch of guys wanting to be on TV.
I did like this part............. Burton repeatedly read remarks McNamee had made, and each time the former trainer was forced to admit they were untrue. "This is really disgusting. You're here as a sworn witness. You're here to tell the truth," he said. "I don't know what to believe. I know one thing I don't believe and that's you."

It's ******* stupid. Selig needs to go. As a Yankee fan, I say Clemens needs to go too. All of those juice monkeys need to get bounced.
On top of that, baseball needs to lose it's anti-trust exemption and lose it now. Stupid friggen ruling made up of whole cloth. Disgusting. Funny that you and I agree on this WI wide. LOL

![]() I can't figure out why the statement that John Rocker made about what Selig knew is not getting attention from the dimwit politicians. |

The owners giving Selig a two year contract extension is a travesty. All this crap happened on his watch. They are rewarding him for growing the game. For revenue and merchandising sales growth during his tenure...which I agree has been tremendous....now how do you suppose some of those things happened? The owners (and the union) could agree to third party testing and have let Bud's contract expire and have turned the corner on this whole scandal...but they didn't. All the hand wringing and supposed repugnance at these players who have sullied the game is so much hogwash. They could give a damn. Its about the money and they only care that they have been caught with the reason the game grew....and I am a dyed in the wool baseball fan! Who DIDN'T know many, many players were using something these last years? And we hang on their every comment.

Yeah, maybe Selig and the politicians never saw Barry Bond's rookie card.

I heard it was a regular "love fest" prior to his testimony. Congressmen lining up for autographs, pictures, etc. Why am I not surprised?
He11 ...better to subpoena Dolly P. and investigate her back problems! Much better pics. ![]()

Clemens is going to end up doing time in a federal pound-me-in-the-ass prison for perjury before this is all over. He's a great pitcher but an obviously egomaniacial idiot.

As reported by local news, a.) A significant number of the committee members said the same thing in their respective opening remarks. b.) This "hearing" was called at Roger's request. And then he came in totally unprepared and caught in a number of lies and misrepresentations. Not sure who looked worse, him or his attorney.

Clemens is in the O.J. category. We didn't have to see him do it for us to know he did. Petite "misremembered". OK.

Nah, proof is not strong enough just yet. Hope he is not lying but this is not good for anyone... and the sport.

Want physical evidence? Just have then all drop their drawers. They'll have a nutsack the size of two peanuts. I was listening to a local sports talk show and they were interviewing Jose' Conseco's ex-wife. She said as much on live radio. Or maybe he was just hung like a buck terrier to begin with
![]() How about a few Docs' opinion on this? My gf dated a gymrat on roids. Not only was he a boy among men he also had woody issues at a very young age. Had money though ![]()
