Something more business (read money) oriented. I'm OK with what I do, in fact, I love it. But I wish I had joined my employer 25 years ago instead of 5 years ago. As such, I won't get medical when I retire, I lost out on that opportunity.

went into art. not complaining too much.

sometimes wish i'd pursued engineering. if you look at fine art in the twentieth century, and industrial design, i think the designers produced things that are more beautiful, respected, and that will stand the test of time better.

either that, or gone into the air force full time, and have some small part of payback for 9/11.

or porn star astronaut.

An excellent subject!
I was a beginning EMT (emergency medical technician) shortly after graduating from high school. I wish I would have stuck with it. I would have been a full fledged Paramedic or fire fighter by now and close to retirement. I enjoyed the job and enjoyed the people that I met. I did not feel (at the time) that I was ready to make that full time commitment.

Same career arc. Why? I had fun all over the world, was scared in many parts of the world, fought for my country and learned enough about myself in those three circumstances to be happy with my choices.

One of my regrets with reservations is not pulling the trigger on a nuclear navy career. I went through and passed all the tests then backed out.

I think that would have been a really cool career.

Would not have let my father talk me out of joining the service. He was a 20 year vet of Korea and Nam, very military family.

Would not have let a girl keep me from moving back to Germany for a few years.

Would have actually done something in my degreed field, Bio-Medical Engineering, think robotics would have been cool.

Would have had my kids 15 years earlier.

I wouldn't change. I went into engineering, worked as a project manager for a while, hated it, and accidentally fell into teaching. Absolutely love teaching, but the previous experience taught me to really appreciate what I have now. Shame about the paycheque though.
