Sniper wanted

I posted a question yesterday asking for advice on motion sensors to notify me when people are approaching my house due to a recent crime wave in our neighborhood. Well our crime watch chief just sent us the following:

Quote:
Hi everyone,
There has been a window smashed on a car parked on the street at xxx xxxxx St. It happened about 20 min. ago. It is a multi-family house. I spoke with the officer and the owner and he had a GPS on his dash and they got it. The officer had just been down Worth and they must have been watching him, because 5-8 min. later the window was busted in. Keep a look out for any suspicious people in neighborhood and call 911. Remember to TAKE, LOCK & HIDE.

Taking advantage of Texas' Castle Doctrine in which you are allowed to shoot anyone attempting to cause harm or steal from you, I'd like to offer my house as a sniper's haven. I will bait my car with GPS, iPods, etc and leave it in my drive way near the street. All you have to do is shoot the offenders after they have broken into my car. If we get enough of the scum bag thieves, they might stay clear of the neighborhood.

Needless to say, nothing is left in my car and I now park it in the back behind a gate.

Thanks!!!

What kind of bounty are you offering? Does this include pizza and beer?

Do you provide the ammo or do we bring our own? Put me down. If I'm out your way I'll gladly take a few posts.

Bring my own ammo, too:-D

I require beer. And women.

I live in East Dallas not too far from downtown.

There was even an article about crime in our area in today's paper. Here's link to the article.

I'll supply all the pizza/food you want. I can't have you drinking on the job though.

Higgins????
$hit, he can shoot them from his place

I feel for you, my house never gets locked, vehicles in the driveway with the keys in them.
I've got a motion light out front, but mostly for the cats at night so they can see their way around my front yard.

Seriously though, time to put an end to this crap!

Finally, all those years of blasting beer bottles at 1000 yards will pay off.

What is your impression of the profile of these burglars? And do you believe the reasons given in the paper for the increase?

Hell, I'll bring the crossbow and make a silent episode out of it! Expandable mechanical broadheads on a x-bow bolt = "Now with EXTRA Lethal!"

One liter bottle of Maker's Mark for every perp hit (I can't be responsible for EMTs showing up and saving their useless lives).

$100 per day per diem for food, and accommodations for the duration (get your neighbors to chip in on the per diem and this gets really inexpensive, really quick).

Speaking of accommodations, if your wife/girlfriend has a cute (by my definition) sister/girlfriend, I'll waive my other customary fees.

But I'd hate to get a ticket for shooting from a baited field!

Profile: It seems like it runs the gamut unfortunately. Makes profiling a bit harder...

The problem is that we are like an oasis in the 'hood. It's a 5 block area that is surrounded on three sides by low rent apartments. Crime seems to have escalated in the past couple of months getting to the point where something has to happen.

I'm not really the sniper type... more of a car bomb type.
I'll have to source my ANFO locally, as they won't allow me to fly with it in my carry-on.

At least it's a targa and not a coupe.
