Grrr... why are the bullet points on my resume showing up as dollar signs on Monster?

I don't get this. My resume is in Word. All the formatting looks great. When I upload it to Monster.com the formatting is off in several areas. When it's downloaded from Monster the bullet points magically become dollar signs! That's not really the image I'd like to portray!

Any suggestions?

I deleted the bullet point formatting and put in *s instead. It's working much better now. Formatting is still off a bit in one area with tabbed spacing when viewed on Monster, but its fine when downloaded, which was my main concern.

Word resumes tend to appear in odd ways when pasted elsewhere. I've seen all sorts of symbols, as well as some WEIRD formatting. It's a PITA, about the best fix is just to repair each one by hand.

try saving your Word document as a .txt document....and then doing any formatting there...once that is done cut and paste from the .txt document to Monster and it should work.

on a side note, maybe having $$s in your resume is a good thing to show prospective employers that you are serious about making good earnings.
