How Could They Fk This Up
GW practically handed them the country on a silver platter. All they had to do is nominate a canidate to run against any Republican and they would have won. But no they have gone and fked it up as usual. Obama not being able to put Hillary away and giving her a 3rd resurrection from the grave of also ran for President is going to tear the Democratic party apart. Not only that but Hillarys and Obamas hands are going to make Lady McBeths' hands look clean by comparison. That fact is not going to play well in Peoria.
The Democrats are now entering Death Match territory. Only if Obama can put Hillary away in Pennsylvania will the Democrats have a chanch in the general election. If neither canidate emerges heads above the other after Pensylvania and the final primaries the issue of Floridia and Michigan not being able to seat their delegates at the Convention will take the whole issue into the courts. If that happens the American people will have had enough of the Democrats and their squabbling and view it as more of the same old broken system. The new politics will be the same old politics and the Democrats including Obama will be viewed as damaged goods. If Hillary should win through legal maneuvering or soliciting Super Delegates behind closed doors when Obama is ahead in pledged delegates, Obamas troops will go home forever turned off to politics. They will then associate the political system as being completely corrupt. If Obama should win many of the older Dems might turn to the neo-Liberal oldster McCain. Either way McCain now has the advantage in the general election. McCain will be viewed as the safe play, a known commodity. A grandpa you can trust.

I believe the Dems have slightly underestimated the impact of the bigger picture in peoples mind. That, and the classic meaning of the sense that it is a deep physiological trait to tend to stick with what you have (although perhaps not optimal) instead of taking the plunge into the unknown (however promising). Much like tabs mention.
Interesting fact however, you Americans are ready to put a 70 year old in charge, while the Russians just elected a 42 year old!

The net result is that Clinton picked up a net of about 20 delegates. Obama still has more than 100 more than Clinton with a dwindling number of delegates needed to clinch the nomination and a dwindling number of delegates to be won. Obama is in the driver's seat. All he has to do is win the easy ones and stay close in the rest and he'll get enough delegates to clinch the nomination. The only thing that has changed is the Media's reporting of the race.

Clinton is the biggest screw-up I have ever seen. This whole mess could have been avoided if she had just kept her mouth shut. Everyone was in love with her and would have voted her way but then she started talking and that was her downfall. She continues to speak and show the world what a power hungery witch she truely is. Even if she had lost Ohio and Texas, I am convinced she would not drop out of the race. The issue of Florida and Michigan is far from over if Clinton needs more delegates. I just want the maddness to stop so I don't have to see her fake smile and hear the whining anymore.

I voted for Obama yesterday. I think he could put this nation back on the right path domestically and abroad. He does have some super liberal positions, but I think he could make things happen. If he doesn't get the nomination, I'm voting for McCain. No way in hell I am voting for Hillary. She is so divisive that I think we would have 4 years of gridlock.

See 2004. All they had to do was nominate a candidate with a personality and instead they pick Herman Munster. Combine that with their campaign strategy of answering every question with "we aren't Bush" and providing NO specifics or direction and you get another loss.
I don't understand how the Democratic "machine" can not see how much of this country despises Hillary.

In most states people have been voting 2:1 for the Democrats. It's going to be a landslide in the general election, which is why the Dem candidate is a very important selection for everyone concerned.

There are 2 huge egos with Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama. While it is required for the job, there is no way either of them is backing down. Now that the negative campaigning has started, they will hand the job to McCain.
Look up Willie Horton. Gore used the issue on Dukakis (sp?) in the primaries back in the 80s, and then GHWB used it in the general. It's coming; Rezko, Shu, Trie, Lippo, Cattle, Whitewater... expect to see all if it soon. I feel really bad from Pelicans in Pennsy. You will bear the brunt of this.

I guess I will share a little tid-bit about this Thread. The title of "How could they fk this up." is a take on the William Hurt line in the movie "A History of Violence."

Agree with all this 200%. My only question is: Am I the only one the recalls the Clintons childish acts of theft and vandalism on their last exit from the White House?
Now, some want THEM back in there? I don't get it...
