Thats what Nostatus orginally thought about me...however he changed his opinion of me as being more of a Reverend Gene Scott character.

Hang in guy...just hang in. As you know, I had a long love affair with a P-car, over 3 decades. Now that it's gone? Well, there are other things out there to do for fun. (edit) Divorce lawyers? Friends have assured me that they go away...after they've drained all the blood. :)

I once had you pegged as, Claude Robichaux, but then what do I khaux.

I would part that thing out immediately, start w/ the trans and then try to sell the rest minus transmission. The problem is that we are going into a severe recession at best, there will be plenty of people getting out of motorsports and not many getting in, IMO.

I agree w/ Mike that MCs provide mucho mas bang for the buck and are a lot more fun. AND you can take them to the track, as well. Definitely a lot more fun on the street.

Bikes are only cheaper until you get injured. Then they are the most expensive of all.

Todd, surprised to see you selling. Was looking forward to competing with you in IP, as I just got my license this past December (did first race school with you in '06, but delayed the second class for a year due to new baby).

Understandable decision, though. As a new dad, I've come to realize there will be fewer track days for me as well.

Agree. This will mean some sweet machines at a good price down the line, though.

People get killed racing cars all the time as well. I know exactly what you are saying, but I trust myself on a bike.

the 03-07-2008 02:16 PM

It's not you that you have to trust/worry about.

speeder 03-07-2008 02:25 PM

Yes it is. Respectfully disagree.

I have had a couple of Ducs myself. You can ride safe and reduce your chances of an accident, but you cannot eliminate the risk. And on a bike, the consequences of an accident are much more severe.

If I get T-boned in my racecar, I will walk almost every time. The car takes the hit. On a bike with a similar hit, you are looking at a serious injury or death.

No way around physics. As a surgeon, I used to work with transplant harvests on a regular basis. Saw one guy who lost his life in a sprint car race, compared to dozens of bikers.

Unless you are driving on roads or tracks with no other motorists, coyotes, etc., them's famous last words.

well, goes towards time/space/talent. Parting it out isn't an option.

Already have someone coming to look at it on Sunday. As far as I can tell there aren't that many getting out of it. Throughout last year there was the occasional car that would come up for sale at events, but most were far more expensive and in more prepared classes than mine. Knock on wood, mine should go fairly quickly, in part because I'm not asking crazy money for it.

speeder 03-07-2008 02:42 PM

Well, I'd love to be wrong about that previous assessment. Good luck w/ it!

450knotOffice 03-07-2008 05:18 PM

Todd, if I could swing it, I'd buy it from you in a heartbeat.

motion 03-07-2008 06:41 PM

Scott, you need another Porsche like you need a hole in the head. :)

450knotOffice 03-07-2008 07:50 PM

I know. I know.;)

I would tend to agree. I am waiting to upgrade my accomodations and transport.
