another open letter

And more to the point. If it were up to me, both Mule and WI Wide Body would be banned yesterday. I'm sick of you BOTH acting like 5 year olds. And that is an insult to most 5 year olds.

Please try to grow up or you will be tossed. Stop with the idiotic personal attacks and snide name calling. And as a side topic, Byron, quit posting images with very questionable taste (ie the Chelsea t-shirt thing). When in doubt, don't post it.

It's funny because I'm on a number of other boards and this one used to be one of the most fun and entertaining. Now it has become one of my least favorite places to read, in large part due to a small number of people acting like really annoying children. So stop already.

That's the most sensible thing that I've heard in two days!

Consider it done.

I agree with this. Boards seem to have cycles. Sometimes they're excellent. Other times they seem to get taken over by troglodytes. Much depends on the moderators' tolerance for rubbish.

But everyone one here knows who the consistently offensive posters are. Why not just ban them and be done with it? I know that we strive to be a "broad church" and all, but it seems to me the quality of the board suffers because of these posters – so why not just get rid of them?

Damn Todd at least you could have given us the link to the thread with the picture. Now I have to waste all this time doing a search!

As I see it WI continues to pull Mule and others down to the gutter. WI's posts would have been more appropriate back when this section was called "Off topic Rantings" Hey Wayne; How 'bout a change. . . --wow, that was 2002

I guess I haven't read enough threads. Must be the political threads.

it was neither that funny, nor that offensive to me

Todd can't put them on his ignore list like I can

It makes it much more tolerable, and trolls eventually quit coming out of their caves if you don't poke them too much

I don't post too often because the regulars seem to have a pretty good familiarity going. I do notice the few times I have, there are a certain few who relish shooting holes in anybody's post just for fun. So I generally shut up. I do think it's sad when people who think they're smart cause a pefectly reasonable exchange to slide into sarcasm, snide-ness, and general boorishness. Life in 2008, I guess.

Hey JJone, we both have '79 SC's and '77 924's. Is your '77 a Martini by chance?

No, it's a garden variety I use for daily transport. I bought it on eBay almost 2 years ago.

I am working on mine right now. My youngest daughter has been driving it and it has a cracked exhaust manifold. I ordered a used one and am installing it this weekend. The car is slow as hell but with god knows how many miles, it keeps going and going and going. I am contemplating getting her a 944 for college next year and use the '77 myself as a go to work car on cool days. The unibody is solid and I truly am impressed at how reliable the car has been over the years.

Todd, you really should have an embassy post. You certainly have the diplomatic skills for it.
