It should probably be noted that Hanford was not a power plant. It produced plutonium for nuclear weapons. Huge difference, really.

I probably work at one of the most contaminated nuclear sites in the US. Ironically, the nuclear precautions and regulations here are much more stringent than when I worked at a nuclear power plant.
