I locked my keys in my car

any tips on getting them out. I left them in the ignition. but the tricky part is the dr. side panel is off. and i coxxed the window down a quarter of a inch. i've tried just about everything to my knowledge. "which is not a lot" anything would help........

you have a quarter inch of window open
last time i checked, that's more then enough room for a coat hanger

What model car?

***

I have a friend who's wife locks her keys in her car once a month like clockwork. It's to the point that if he gets a phone call while we are all sitting at lunch we start slapping dollar bills on the table. (First one to slap down a dollar is betting that his wife locked her keys in the car, second to slap down a dollar is taking the bet. We don't even have to say anything anymore.)

+1 get a coat hanger and make a little hook or loop on the end of it.

get the hook on the ring of the key chain, or in the hole of the key. Pull the key out. Get the key near the window, preferably near your hand.

And once you get it open, you might want to put the top up. It looks like rain.

I heard that if you hold the remote for the power door locks to a phone, and hold your cell phone near the car....

If the window is down a 1/4 inch, you have plenty of room to do the coat hanger hook method. Plenty. Yeah, I speak from experience. (My mom used to lock her keys in her car so regularly that she actually carried a coat hanger in her purse!!)

That's funny. Why not a spare set of keys instead?

Wife calls me one day frantic.

"Where is the extra remote for the car?"

Why?

"Mines dead and I can't get into the car and I gotta get out of here and pick up the kids"

So your remote does not work?

"YEAH"

Did you try the key????
