I gave it about 5 minutes. Appeared to be about as stupid as Pinks, which I also can't stand. Considering Speed's goal to be the NASCAR network, the programming seems appropriate.

There is absolutely NOTHING on speed channel other than Formula One that is worth watching for a long time.
Once they bent over and spread their cheeks for CrashCar, it went downhill from there...

It is just a half hour (or more) info-mercial for the pontiac soltice. Do you guys remember the "hit" tv show/movie a few years back where Dennis Hopper has to track down something from his long gone/sold '67 GTO in order to solve some wrong doing??
Guess what he was driving? A (then) 2002 brand new GTO !! Totaly whored for Pontiac

(edit) FWIW, I had a couple of Pontiac GTO's...a '65 that I foolishly traded in for a '66. They had engines that had 389 cubic inches of displacement, and three carbs, capable of sucking down over 1400 cubic feet of air in about 60 heartbeats...

The show is stupid and that producer clown is the same one that did the bike show with the builder from Australia with the mohawk.
Tommy Kendall better be paid well for his role on the show. He is a very talented driver, or was, I guess. F1, 2:00 am qualifying from Malayasia.

Yup. It wasn't worth a schit before they started in on Nascar. They ought to either do it 24/7 or shut it down. Its pretty ridiculous with all the other crap they air.

Yikes! Whether you like the show or not you have to admit that it went out with a bang! I haven't actually seen the episode yet, but I have to imagine the driver was seriously injured in this crash.

I watched the whole first season.
I was pissed that the producer(s) seemed to create new rules at will to cut down the obviously talented driver who, despite a lot of BS and drama, won the series. I quit watching the second season after about 4 episodes. It became obvious that there weren't really rules, just the producers whims to create drama. I think the Solstice has potential. The new hard-top should be a great car. Some of the technology in the turbo version rivals that in Porsche engines (direct injection, two impellers on the turbo, variable valve timing).

wtf happened? his rear wheel got into the front wheel of the car he passed? That thing got airborne quick. Worst crash I've ever "seen" at Streets was a bozo in a new M3 in the first session, lap 2, overcooking it going into the bowl and launching over the back ending up in the fence. There was a guy in an Evo that had a horrific one at a different event. Worst one I ever saw was last year at Infineon when at POC guy slammed into the back of a safety vehicle that was parked on-line at the base of a blind rise at Infineon. I hate crashes... |

I figured as much... didn't think they'd be playing up the crash so much if the guy'd been killed or was going to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. Must've been a heck of a ride.

TV is all about selling time - viewer minutes. That's all they've got.
Nascar is BIG. They've increased their audience exponentially. And their income. Hopefully another network will pick up the slack. |

I wanted to really like it, but also gave up on it after about episode 4. I've been disappointed enough with it that I'm thinking of dropping SPEED after 3 months.
