I am more pissed off at myself for not using jack stands, I even told my son, from now on whenever a car is jacked up the stands need to be under it.


I guess maybe if we were wearing tennis shoes it might be safer for our toes and if we were doing anything more than a brake job, which I do so much for track days with this car I can do with my eyes closed, we would be donning foot apparel.

Good life? I did not get a paycheck for the entire month of March, good thing I have socked a bunch of money away when times were good we have been living off of savings for the last 6 weeks. :(

I keep hoping business picks up or I am closing down the business at the end of this year and going back to a 2 person company, then I will not have time anymore to go anywhere.

Terry - I missed part of your post before, Mike, my son bought the E30 not me, I made it VERY clear to him a couple of years ago that I do not believe in buying my kids cars, they need to buy themselves their cars and work their way up so they can appreciate what it takes to get nice stuff. Nothing is getting handed to him, I did tell him I would match his savings dollar for dollar for his 1st car only, in this instance he paid $500 for this car (again, a huge thanks to RickV) and I have put another $500 into the car in parts to make it road worthy and safe.

From this point on he is responsible for keeping it on the road, I will offer my knowledge for him to learn how to repair it and keep it maintained but he will be responsible for financing.

He also does not get a free ride at daddies company he needs to find a job for himself and work at it although he seems to have found a nice gig doing what he loves and it looks like he might make a good living at it if he applies himself, then he will never work a day in his life.

I could tell you stories would make your hair turn white. For example, a full 55 gal drum will snip your toes off neat as you please if you set it on your foot, this works with safety shoes if you do it right.

Even if you don't drop something, there is a bunch of stuff on your garage floor you don't want to step in, even one as clean as yours. I have pulled a lot of things out of the bottom of people's feet, metal shavings, glass, needles, pencils, thorns, toothpicks.
