I was married at 24 and my first was born when I was 28. Those first four years were both productive and fun - went to Europe twice, etc., worked hard and saved. Paid off our only car loan, had a meager mortgage on a neat but small older home. We've been lucky - and blessed. But more kids=more blessings!

4 children, 3 living, ages 19, 16, and 3(and I didn't even get a new, younger wife out of it). Try raising a small child after 50, what a challenge.

Just one. One excellent son. We're thrilled to be his parents. But just one. That's perfect.

Two here - daughter 17 and son 12. Wife and I are big proponents of man-to-man vs zone defense when it comes to parenting. Logistics are still daunting, but the daughter drives herself now, which helps.

Just one, which seems to be enough for us.

Two here, a 5 year old daughter, and my son will be 2 in May. While my wife could have more, I agree with Steve, I like the man-to-man defense.

Not to mention most of you are forgetting that anymore than two, and your whole family can't go for rides in the 911.

On a more serious note, my mom had a brother, and my dad had a sister. So in my family, just two kids goes back a number of generations (including grandparents, etc.).

I have friends with more than three, one freind with 5. It is hectic around the house, and they wouldn't have it any other way. I feel like I am in a looney bin when I am over there though, I guess you just get used it.

I have to admit, I thought I was in the minority when posting this poll. I am a little surprised to see so many here with large families.

I have to say, I wouldn't want it any less than three. I only had one brother and we never got on, but three would have changed the whole dynamic, I think for the better. There's no right answer, I'm just making an observation.

A buddy of mine stated once while grilling me on children, "My kids are my revenge on the world."

While that sounds enticing and evil, it still can't convince me or my wife that having kids is a good idea for us.

The prblem with going to three kids is you go from man on man defence to zone defense and it's never the same again. I know I have three 18, 15 and 12.

4 sons.

18, 17,14 &13

the odd ones are hers. the even are mine

I've been told that I don't look Hispanic, by strangers.

I've been asked if I'm Morman.

I had a vasectomy prior to marrying Joanna.

one night she said "gee it would be nice to have1 of "ours" " I told her what it would do to the 4 plus us

It went out of her head quickly.

my 18 y/o is out of the house. I miss him. He's now living in OH. with his mom.
