But wow is this OT for the Tech Forum.

BTW, one other point to ponder as far as the Chinese prods go - the slave labor mentioned above. If you look around a little, there are all sorts of reports about the working conditions of the Chinese - from sweat shops to workers being exposed to all sorts of dangerous chemicals, etc, etc. And yes they are doing it of their own accord, but a very small minority is becoming enormously wealthy exploiting the average Joe (orisit Hung). If we western consumers held back just a little, enormous pressure could be put on the Chinese to change this. The side effect is that labor would become more expensive and the free market would work in everyones interest again.

The germans may know how to put them together but the parts are C**p from that place and last a tenth the time our 30 year old german parts last! I had a made in china headlight switch on my truck that lasted a whole 2 months before burning up the ac delco switch I replaced it with has been in 5 years.
