+1 here. I hate Bush. Then again, for all the right wing leaning whatevers, I live in France.
But wow is this OT for the Tech Forum. BTW, one other point to ponder as far as the Chinese prods go - the slave labor mentioned above. If you look around a little, there are all sorts of reports about the working conditions of the Chinese - from sweat shops to workers being exposed to all sorts of dangerous chemicals, etc, etc. And yes they are doing it of their own accord, but a very small minority is becoming enormously wealthy exploiting the average Joe (orisit Hung). If we western consumers held back just a little, enormous pressure could be put on the Chinese to change this. The side effect is that labor would become more expensive and the free market would work in everyones interest again. Sorry for the very OT rant. |

The following is the 2007 winning entry from an annual contest at Texas A&M University calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.
This year's term was Political Correctness. The winner wrote, 'Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.'

The germans may know how to put them together but the parts are C**p from that place and last a tenth the time our 30 year old german parts last! I had a made in china headlight switch on my truck that lasted a whole 2 months before burning up the ac delco switch I replaced it with has been in 5 years.

Japan tried that in the 80's and almost succeded as our friends from Hawaii will testify I was going to buy a condo in Pearl city for 89,000 and the agent that was going to sell it to me told me when I was there in 93 that that condo got bought buy someone in japan for 250,000. Also was told by some friends over there that Japan was bailing out of the islands because they lost there a#@ I don't know if that was true or not now we have China trying the same thing, they get it out of the "book of 5 rings" for Japan and " Sun Tsu, The art of war" for the Chinese, break your opponent economically and you won't have to defeat them on the battlefield.

America is being conquered by its insatiable lust for rubber dog schit. Truly an ironic suicide of capitalism.
