I don't jump my BMX bikes like I use to, but have been known to hit the track, proble is, I started racing a again a few years back, pulled a muscle in my back, went to the Doc a few days later, my blood pressure was so high he was ready to put me in the hospital right then
as my breathing wasn't bad enough & blown knees. Well, like I said, I still ride, bikes, skateboards (and plan on getting back into surfing this summer, time permitting) vollyball, B-ball, I just have to know when to stop & watch my knees

Never was into ball sports... but last year sold off my motorcycles... not a physical sport I know but it broke my heart, I love riding motorcycles and it was the "I'm fifty and not indestructible anymore" moment like what you are describing.
I still ride my mountain bike, I would love to take up swimming but public pools gross me out and the ocean is too damn cold (maybe I'll get myself a wetsuit), there are also some Tai Chi classes opening I want to check out... I'M NOT DEAD YET!
