I guess he means 'out of state and totally unable to access the internet'. He must have been in Alabama.

Not that it is any of my business either.

t951 06-21-2008 05:24 AM

I'm confused...you're back to reloading, with a machine you think is dangerous, that you agreed to sell?

Did you sell it to him, or are you keeping it?
Aren't you worried about your safety if you think the machine is flawed?

just curious.

Joeaksa 06-21-2008 05:40 AM

Thats what I am trying to figure out. I have talked with Dillon here in town and they want to see the machine to take it apart and see whats going on. They have emailed me twice now asking when I am going to bring it by and I have to keep stalling them.

Last word I had from Jack was that this would be done in 6 weeks. Its now been 7 weeks and now he is reloading again with it?

Guess I am a bit thick but I do not understand whats going on here with Jack and the machine he felt was dangerous, did not like and agreed to sell to me to get rid of it....

speeder 06-21-2008 07:40 AM

He's a pathological liar that makes Baghdad Bob look like John Wayne, Joe. There is serious $$ to be made betting against him keeping his word, unless he is so publicly shamed here that he's forced to send it to you. (Sound familiar)? ;)

He's lying about being "out of the country" for 6 weeks, he's not telling the whole story about the machine, etc... He has a history of not knowing WTF he's talking about w/ mechanical issues, but has a delusional vision of himself as a really sharp guy and mechanical whiz that will not allow him to admit it.

Why would anyone continue to use a "defective" re-loader that puts slugs in his ceiling? I mean really, think it through...

Porsche_monkey 06-21-2008 07:45 AM

Well that should get a response....

Joeaksa 06-21-2008 11:21 AM

It would be nice to hear from him about whats going on and why he is dragging his feet.

I keep getting "just wait, I will be finished with it shortly" emails or PM's from him. He has had my FedEx account number for shipping for 7 weeks now and I will Pay Pal him the funds ANYTIME he gives me an email address to send it to.

Jack, lets finish this and move on.

stomachmonkey 06-21-2008 11:52 AM

He's probably been reloading like a rabid squirrel laying in a supply of nuts for the winter.

He'll sell when he thinks he has stockpiled enough ammo.

Then will pat himself on the back for getting a "free" reloader.

DARISC 06-21-2008 11:55 AM

In the end it'll probably turn out to be a commie plot. Jack will reeeealy be frosted then.

Dillon has had the machined, worked on it, and not made it better. I will post the result of 500 rounds of 0.308, all LC LR brass from the same lot, along with photos, maybe video, of all the alignment steps. We will soon see how it turns out.

And when are you going to stand by your agreement to sell it to me?

If you feel its so dangerous then why are you reloading 500 rounds of ANYTHING with it?

See how it turns out? What is your problem here? You hate the press and agreed to sell it, now you want to trust your life to it again?

Shiiit or get off of the pot. Stop playing games.

Which is one of the reasons you agreed to sell to Joe.

This confuses me, are you trying to get it to misload and blow or are you admitting that the original problem was due to you using crap primers/casings?

You made a deal with Joe who has been very patient.

Either give him an honest no jerking around answer or hand in you man card, your replacement pussy card will be in the mail.

Paul T 06-22-2008 06:40 AM

I don't understand the problem here, seems pretty clear to me?

Please, just get another press and get rid of the Dillon. Will give you $300 for it if you want to sell it.

Then you can complain about something else.

maybe snowman wants to be a.................free-loader....

sorry, couldn't help it....

Joeaksa 06-22-2008 07:18 AM

Another thing here that I am not sure that Jack realizes. If he has a problem with the reloader, any equipment associated with the reloader (like the primer tubes he says are dangerous) or the rounds he is now reloading, he now has absolutely NO LEGAL RECOURSE with Dillon over this.

He has posted on a public forum that he does not trust this reloading press, that he feels that its dangerous and should not be used. When I contacted Dillon they agreed and said that it should be sent in immediately. I told Dillon that I would bring the press by the company when I received it from Jack and it would not be used without their checking it out.

Now for some silly reason he is reloading 500 more rounds with it. He says that its because he is trying to "document failures" while doing this. Dillon knows about this thread on PPOT, as I assume do their lawyers and if anything happens while he is doing this, he is on his own and its his fault with no legal recourse what so ever with Dillon.

If he backs out of this and sells it to anyone else and they do not return it to the factory, they as well are on their own. Why he is not standing by his agreement is a good question. We can only wonder what he will do next...

Actually if he does not disclose then he's liable.

T-951
Free loader! That's funny.

Dottore 06-22-2008 08:21 AM

I usually try to be civil on this board, but anyone who has been here for any length of time knows that Snowman is seriously delusional, ill informed and borderline psychotic.

Although you have conducted yourself absolutely correctly Joe, reading this thread is a bit like watching you run circles around someone who is handicapped. It's not a pretty sight.

I would let it go.

The really disturbing thing to me is that guys like Snowman have weapons and are stockpiling ammunition.

cab83_750 06-22-2008 12:19 PM

This thread is getting pretty interesting!!!!!!

snowman 06-22-2008 09:45 PM

I am documenting the 650 very carefully, because I believe that it is dangerous and Dillon needs to correct the problem or stop selling the 650. I am simply going to go thru every single step in Dillons manual, with enough photo/video evidence for anyone to make up their own mind.

You all seemed to have missed the point that I have sent this 650 back to Dillon, who adjusted it, and it still operates the same way.

If the 650 somehow loads all of these rounds, without a problem, I will also post that. I chose 500, maybe 1000 to be a large enough sample to properly document the problem. Dillon sent me a new primer system, so I am starting with that (the old one blew up). Dillon's warranty is not in question, they just keep sending new parts, no charge, they check out the machine for free, they align it, but that dosen't decrease the danger from primer detonations.

Their 550, and 1050 uses a differen't primer system, is far more popular and probably is the basis for their reputation.

I build race engines for many differen't cars, they do not fail because of any workmanship problems due to me, in fact they have not failed, period. I have built many microelectronic devices, using thick film, thin film hybrids, monolithic integrated circuits using equipment in a lab that I have set up from scratch. This stuff is much more touchy and difficult mechanically than any reloading machine.

I have lawyers that work for me, they can be sicked on people for defamation of character. What I will be posting is simple my observations, carefully documented. I don't care if a company puts out a somewhat less than optimum piece of equipment, but if it can blow up in your face, people need to be aware of that possibility. I will be reviewing the Dillon 650 and post my opinion of what I saw. People can take it or leave it, its just my opinion.
