I may not know cigars and cognac very well, but I know hot sauce.... The best that I have found (and do I dare let the secret out in fear of there being a shortage) is Zaaschila. They make a red and a green picante. I prefer the red. This stuff is great on just about everything and doesn't have that nasty vinegar flavor. Try it and you will like it. It can be found in Wal Mart now. It is made in Nuevo Leon Mexico, you will not be disappointed........

I discovered Guilin Chili Sauce a while back. It's chinese, and it's made with coarsely ground red pepper, garlic, and fermented soy beans. Not quite as spicy as Sriracha, but it has a great, almost smoky flavor. Definately worth looking for if you have a good asian market nearby. Lee Kum Kee makes some, so it shouldn't be too uncommon.
