Newer VOX AC30 worth it?
I have the opportunity to pick up a 2005 model for $500. Sounds really good. Just the right size, etc.. Worth it?
Quality, mods, resources? figure some of you guys would know. The amp looks like it needs a little work, wondering if its worth that much to fix up. Last edited by Jared at Pelican Parts; 04-25-2008 at 04:44 AM.. |

Depending on what speakers are in it, It's absolutely worth $500 if it's the sound you're looking for. They are good amps.
http://www.zzounds.com/item--VOXAC30CC Quality? Ehhhhh. The build quality is 'ok'; I have a few "reissue" vox products and they are ok, occasionally they have a problem with bad solder joints on the circuit boards. But since the AC30 is kind of their "flagship" maybe it's got a little better build quality. One think that I think is a bummer with the newer AC30s is that you can't manually jumper the channels together, it's kind of 'already done' for you. But that's not really a big deal in the grand scheme.
