Indy....

I love driving around Indy in the spring time with my P-car. I drove down by 16th street today......heard the cars blasting around the track while practicing, and saw about 5 other P-car owners (exchanging waves in the process)

Life is good.

Hey, another Indiana Pelican!
My wife and I will be down at the track several times during May, PM me if you want to try to grab a beer sometime! Also, If you are interested, I usually get a couple extra drivers meeting/garage passes for "The Month of May". One of the perks of owning a vintage Indy car That offer goes for any other Central Indiana Pelicans as well, though try to let me know soon as I usually only get 4 or 5 passes, and they go quickly!!

Sounds great! My dad used to be a USAC timing official way back in the day, so I always spent the month of may down at the track. It's even more fun now that I live in Indy, instead of FW!

We're driving out there in Sept to catch MotoGP at Indy. We've been going to Laguna Seca since they returned there and can't wait to see the return of bikes in Indianapolis.

I used to live in Speedway and went to Speedway junior high. We lived real close to where 16th street curves and turns into Cunningham (?). We could hear the cars at Indy from our house.

When we first moved there in 1974, we lived in some apartments near Ben Davis High School (?) and Gordon Johncock stayed in the apartment next to ours during May. He even had one of his cars on a trailer in the parking lot one night. He pulled the tarp back and talked to my Dad and I about it. Also, my Dad and I were driving along one day on Crawfordsville Rd and in the parking lot of an old Holiday Inn, there was some guy working on a top fuel dragster. We stopped in and started talking to the guy (he was by himself) only to realize is was Don Garlits. Different world back then.

Good man.

There are rumors (still rumors, nothing substantial yet) that another open-wheel series is being discussed with several of the CC teams.

One can only hope.

Yay! Another split!

Ahh Indy...went to 6 of them growing up before soccer took over my memorial day weekends. Also went to the first Brickyard 400 and the first USGP. Hopefully I will make a return with my friends next year.
