Bunch of old cars @ CalNeva(Frank's Casino)

Went to Tahoe for my birthday with the wife instead of working on my car, blew off the Snoball Rally, but swung by to take some pics, and talk to a cool dude with a very nice 914, most bad ass interior, simple, perfect carpet right down to the piping around the roll cage, gauges on dash and a big motor right behind your head.

Check out how the trunk opens for easy access

nicest bugeye I have ever seen, sounded great, too the little movie has no sound

really cool lancia

with really boss Campagnolo wheels

It is so cute, if it breaks down you can carry it

yummy, boat tail, never liked those libre wheels, I don't care how light they are

inexplicably, I have always dug those little volvos

more

dad had one of these then bought one of the V'12's, he preferred the series I, now rolling in an '84 Carrera Cab when he got tire of the jag and it's funky electrical system

"Rosie" this guy has a beautiful white TR 3 "Casper", he and his wife did all 5 Alpine 500's with my brother and I. Dad's XKE had those same wheels and tires

I just like alfas, this is not as nice as the newer red one parked next to the mercedes

funky 3 lug wheels, French engineering at its best

only american iron on the run this year

these guys were funny, they went on several of the Alpine 500's with us

I would have left the spares with the chains on them home this year

that is Norm's Alpina, he organized the Alpine 500 runs, he and Marion have a few groovy old cars

meant to get a picture of the whole car, but then the owner walked up, I think he did all the Alpine 500's too, we got lost many times with him on more than one of the annual trips

wish the light was better, kinda ratty 356

light was bad, neat little car, sounded great

Yeah, lot of sweet Alfas go on this run every year.
If you are ever in Tahoe the last weekend of April, go to Cal Neva on Sunday morning about 0900, or maybe a little earlier so you don't miss them. This is the sixth year, well 1st really, but it is a continuation of the Alpine 500

some from last year
these two from last year were the coolest alfas I ever saw

This was a beatiful, fast car

Mike Blanchard's rat rod. Not so beautiful, but it is an alfa and it does have a GTV motor, pretty damn fast.

It sounds better than it looks, a lot better.

It is an old alfa with a new alfa drivetrain, which makes it even more cool to me

from a few years ago, love the Loti

Nice group shot at the vineyard that was the end of the run, the blue sedan in the foreground belonged to James Montebello, who passed away from a stroke a few months later, which was pretty fuched up.

Yeah, but it's got a Fram oil filter.

Oh, the horror!
