Celebrity sighting

So Im carrying my baby girl and following my 4 yr old son down the patio furniture isle at Costco when I see this guy and what looks to be his mom. I stare for a split second then realize......I'm standing right next to Scott Pruett. So what's the etiquite? I just leaned over, shook his hand and said "my boy and I watch you all the time. Good luck with the reast of the season."

I really wanted to get a picture, but didn't want to bother him. He was extremley pleasant.

He was there helping his mom pick out some patio furniture...just like the rest of us Joe six packs.

Go Scott!

Scott Pruett is one of the good guys. I like how he always says hello to his family during an interview.

I was standing next to a guy at a car show awhile back when I said, "You look like Steve Millen." (I wasn't sure, so I took an easy-out approach).

His reply, "Never heard of him." Well, the NZ accent gave him away, but I started to turn when he said, "Yes, I am."

So, I complimented him on his apparent good health (you might remember he was in a LMP car that was t-boned at a horrendous speed and nearly cut in two) and walked off. They'll let you know if they feel like talking. He didn't.

On another occasion, I was at a car show and in the nearby donut shop for coffee when I realized John Force was next to my friend at the cream and sugar bar. I walked over to my buddy and said, "Do you know this guy right here?"

He looks at Force and says no. JF had this big grin on his face over the whole deal and turned to leave. I didn't say anything more letting him enjoy the moment. Of course, just out the door he was besieged by fans. My friend looked confused.

I simply said, "John Force" as we walked by. I think my friend is still wondering.

I had Tommy Lee Jones and wife on my outgoing and returning flights from Paris.

I was very surprised to find out he was Al Gore's roomate at Harvard.

I see celibrities often. There's a lot of them in Agoura, Calabasas, etc. I sometimes encounter them at hospitals/clinics --- 50%. The 50% I see them at work (I work at the Fox Studio).

I think the etiquette is to simply pass them, much like you passing a nobody. If they initiate the conversation, then converse.

p.s.,

I work at the building known as the "Nakatomi Building (Die Hard)". I saw the ex-supermodel who was a judge on the "America's Next Top Model" I do not know her name (not Tyra); but, crap..........she is scary ugly in person!

I haven't met met many celebs, but I can say John Force is one of the most amiable people I've ever conversed with... celeb or not. Raspy loud, but genuine. A guy you'd like to spend an afternoon with at the local watering hole.

Glad to see him back where he belongs after that horrendous wreck last year. He's on the cover of California's Auto Club magazine this month in his race car.

I can see Gary Bussey playing Force in the movie of one of the greatest drag racers ever. The two look and sound very similar to me and both are a little crazy.

My brother was mgr for Lincoln Mercury and met Pruett back in the late '80's. Pruett was a Ford Merkur rep and was at Leguna Seca with Jill Saint James and others. My brother has always been a fan of Pruett since then.

I ran in to David Cassidy at last year's Ft. Lauderdale Kruse Auction. He was with a woman...attractive, but looked old enough to be his mom...it was his wife.

I raced go-karts with Scott back in the '80's and we were both getting help from Margay. I would ask him for help sometimes and he never would hesitate, he would just tell me want I wanted and was always pleasant. I've seen him from time to time at the tracks and he always says hi and chats as much as we can.

Simply a standup and fun guy. Hope he wins a few more championships.
