Many oval car racers liken the skill to driving INDY cars to the same skill set involved in karts.

The first time I went to pass someone at 100mph in kart, instead of moving over 1 kart width, I moved about about 3 widths which didn't make me any friends.
When I watch racing on TV, I watch the driver's hands to see how the car's handling and how the driver's handling the car. It's very telling.
As for Danica getting all pissed off. She should have learned how to deal with that before getting to the big leagues. I've had my share of on track incidents but I've learned to let it go (even when someone just took out the $300 radiator that some other yahoo took out the last race).
