that is not a $14K bike. That's what it cost new.

Book is $4200 to $5600. Slightly more if it has a lot of bling on it, but aftermarket stuff doesn't increase used price by very much (sound familiar?).

I'm looking for an ST2 as well. I don't want to deal with the extra maintenance costs of the 4V engines on the ST4. My local shop just had a totally tricked out 2002 ST4 that went for under $8K.

Just looked on eBay; there's what looks to be a nice one - almost exactly like what you have asked about, the buy it now is $7200...

Family needs to keep an eye on that executor. BTDT, don't want the t shirt.

Thats part of the problem. There is no family left, he was the last one and the executor does not know what many of these things are worth. The probate atty seems to be making much of this up but there are several of us who are helping the executor with things.

That's a great-looking bike, Joe, but that atty. is on crack w/ the valuation. A quick look on eBay sets the current value pretty close. Nothing is selling much these days, even MCs in the peak season. I follow the classifieds on some Ducati-specific forums regularly, and even beautiful bikes w/ low miles and records *priced right* are languishing for weeks.

Honestly, that's probably a $4k bike in the real world where people actually write checks or go to the bank and withdraw money to buy things. As opposed to the interwebs, where something is worth whatever someone says it is.

I know that you understand these things, but that lawyer needs a major reality-check.
