Lost a street race...

though I didn't try. A kid (~18) in daddy's new M3 decided that I must want to race him. He sat at the light next to me rolling slightly and reving the engine a bit while looking over at me. At the green, he gunned it (sounded like crap) a blew away from me. I guess I lost. I can understand why he'd think I wanted to race. I meant I had my two young boys in the vehicle and rolled up to the light slowly in my POWDER BLUE MINI VAN!

What a twerp.

Gotta pity a punk who's self-esteem is so low he has to show off like that to feel important.

Are you saying if you were 20 in an M3 (doesn't matter who owns it, you got the keys), you wouldn't rev it at traffic lights next to older dudes in mini vans? Come on, how old are you guys anyway?

Oh to be 20 all over again and be given the keys to a fast car!

I live near a very affluent neighborhood... few times a year high school kids die in their M3's, Cobra's, etc.

Kids should have to drive 1.5 liter cars for the first two years of their driving careers IMHO.

Just think - soon they'll be the ones driving all the 6,000-pound SUVs that nobody else wants because they'll be so dirt cheap.

Yep. A nation of hot-headed inexperienced kids in inherently unstable, unsafe massive vehicles deliberately designed to kill other drivers. Good times comin'.

While rich kids were racing around in M3s, my friend and I were busy doing neutral drops in his sister's '80s Dodge Omni. Until we blew it up. Who ever said a 3 speed auto was no fun? One day it started dieseling after we shut it off (not uncommon) but then it started to REV UP as it continued dieseling. The car shook, we ran for cover. Loud bang, smoke and steam. Can't do that in an M3.

My van had the kids and no I was't racing... that I knew.

I figured the kid was an idiot as I watched him come to a stop. He couldn't seem to keep the car going straight and was jerking the wheel. When I pulled up to the stop line, I stayed back about half a car length because of his eratic behavior. Maybe that's why he kept looking back at me. After all, my sweet sounding Sienna as a real power house [insert toung into cheek].

Speaking of sound, this car really sounded awful when he gunned it. Are the new M3s supposed to sound like a cheep sportbike these days?

Glad you liked it. I spend so many hours trying to figure out how to give the site a more profeccional look to it. I'm still finding error and thing I want to change, but these will have to wait as it's car show season and I need to spend most of my time in my studio.

Is this your minivan? I can see why the kid in the M3 wanted to race.

I'll make a confession. Last night on the way home I raced a WS6 trans am on a clear 6 lane road. Even sprayed it. Only raced to about 60 mph, speed limit was 55. had him by 3 cars.

and it was fun. Flame on!
