Found an MG - Worth anything?
I purchased a company a little more than four years ago. Today some of our guys were cleaning up an underused part of the property and we came across this MG-B. There is no title available - as I recall the prior property owner bought it as salvage to restore. The engine appears to be apart in the trunk:

Looks like about a 1964, has potential to "somone"
I had 6-7 of those as a kid. Might be worth $500 -$800ish if all is there, but that trans does not belong to it ,it should be a top shift 4 speed, not a auto

(I especially like the induction system on the hood. Probably flows better than twin SU's)!

That has the extremely rare "flush-assisted" motor! VERY collectible! I'm curious too, about what else you might come across on "underused" parts of the property? What sort of company was/is this? How many underused areas are on the property that still need to be explored? I can't help you on any potential value, but as for the lack of a title; it may be possible to get a new title issued in your name. The difficulty will depend on your state laws. In some states, it is fairly easy to get a new title for an old abandoned car, especially if the VIN doesn't show up in any data bases. |

Looks like someone was either doing an engine conversion, or found this a convenient place to stash some junk.

Get on it. Chrome bumpers, pull handles. That is one of the early Bs. Get it.

rear engined MG's are pretty rare.
My buddy has a couple that he is converting. Guess the popular thing to do now is drop a pontiac V-6 in. |

The seat was going to be used for a methane conversion. Very useful in these days of high oil prices. I would finish the conversion and sell it to a tree hugger farting liberal. Good luck!

If I recall correctly the MGB's had that style grill and bumpers up until 1972. I had a 1967 MGB GT back in England that was just like that, so everyone saying that it's an early version are absolutely correct. Evne the wheels are original by the look of it. This is good as they were frequently updated to the later Rostyle wheel. Careful with that toilet - assuming it hasn't been replaced that hood should be aluminum.
I would think that this would be well worth saving, especially looking at the general condition of the chrome parts. I would think that you might find several people interested in it. I wouldn't expect it to be super valuable, but still worth saving.

Its certainly a pre 72 car with the chrome bumpers and steelies...(assuming they are originals..)
YOu then need to check if its a Mk1 or Mk2..The Mk1 has a three main bearing engine whilst the Mk2 has a 5 bearing one... IIRC the Mk1 ran until 1967...then the 2 from 68 to 72. Outwardly there are differences.. can't recall them right now. But a Mk1 if complete will attract a bit more... Fun (ish) cars... |

I think it's a 70 or after, because I don't think the bumper overriders were in place on cars before. I doubt that's an aluminum hood, because they bend very easily. I could be wrong on both accounts.

I concur with MFAFF on the 3-main and 5-main engines (thanks MFAFF) but I couldn't remember when the change was made either, so I looked it up. Cars up to 1964 had the 3-main bearing engine and a four speed gearbox with no sychro on first. From 1965 onward (Still MK1 strangely) they changed to the 5 main bearing engine and a full sychro gearbox. Externally I think one of the differences was that all but the very last of the MK1 (1967) cars didn't have reverse lights, which this one doesn't. You may be very lucky and have found an early 1962-1965 MK1 MGB. It's almost certainly pre-1967.

It has to be 67' or older, see the glove box on the pass. side dash. In 68' the dash changed and the glove box was below the dash. Looks like very little rust as well. I would think someone would want to save it. Motors would be an easy find, and with a little work someone will have a nice car!
