Costa Mesa Deports Hundreds Of Undocumented Immigrants

(Costa Mesa, CA) -- Hundreds of undocumented immigrants who have passed through the Costa Mesa jail system have been deported. Roughly a year ago, a new federal immigration officer was stationed at the jail to weed out people who were in the country illegally. It was part of a brand new program that trained law enforcement officers to enforce immigration laws. To date, more than 360 people who ran afoul of the law in Costa Mesa have been remove from the country, and more than a hundred others are currently going through the same process. Immigrant rights groups are not happy about what's going on in Costa Mesa, but a number of other communities are already implementing the same program at their jails.

If the rest of the state would follow this lead. LA, are you watching this?

While they are at it they can scoop up hundreds at the "Home Depot" surrounding cities too!

there was a bunch of these guys hanging around the depot when I bought my sod. They tried to flag me down as I was leaving but I ignored them.
It cost be a knee, but looking back I still wouldn't have hired them. I would have hired a real contractor who would have hired them

At least that way if they get hurt they won't own you, they will own the contractor that hired them.

A homeowner can be held liable for injuries suffered by workers on his property, regardless of their status with the contractor. Very important to check/verify the workman's compensation policy of any contractors prior to commencement of work.

I do feel sorry for them...I do...It's not America's problem... but, when they get amnisty, we can add 30 million more potential democrats to the political landscape within this generation and many more to come... then it will be America's problem. IMHO

I do too, Dawg. No kidding. The solution to their problems, however, is not to spread their problems over a wider geographical area. I would have no difficulty supporting an effort to help maybe by sending south some of the work now going to China. Wouldn't hurt to also send some Planned Parenthood teams that direction. We also need a responsible guest worker program here.
