This disease is so common, see Minkoff's thread. I would have thought that he would have at least had an executive physical though even if he didn't have symptoms prior to the actual event:confused:

Apparently he recently had a full physical. Sometimes your time is just up..
Really feel bad for his father, parents are never supposed to outlive their kids

If he had been taking an aspirin and addressing his risks (and he must have had some), I can't quite believe that this would happen in current times. Don't know what that physical consisted of, but "executive" usually includes more than a doc visit and a couple of labs....

An honest, fair and very interesting man. I enjoyed watching him, he will be missed.:(

I always liked Russert. He was a stand up guy who brought a certain level of credibility to the game. He had a nice way of interviewing. He would push for answers and call people out on things, but it would be done very politely and professionally without a hint of playing the "gotcha game." He will be missed.

It is a sad day for the world of journalism and for the world in general when you consider that so many people have their opinions made for them by watching the news and hearing others opinion. Tim Russert never seemed to have an agenda and was allways prepared to talk about the issues in a polite, non condescending manner. He had values and a love for his family and country. It is sad that he will no longer be there educating America.

Most of the 'Talking Heads' on TV were/are not worth my time to watch, regardless of their hidden leanings (left/right) on the political map, I detest 'em all!

Russert WAS the notable exception!

R.I.P. sir ...to a man of RARE journalistic integrity.

Tim Russert made "Meet the Press" the progamme not to miss if you really wanted to understand events of today.

He will be remembered by many, many people for his personality and ability to relate the news that matters. A very open and honest person.

R.I.P. Mr. Russert and regards to his family.

Well said! I always enjoyed him when Imus would have him on once in a while. He was the real deal in news journalism.

Perhaps, that was part of the problem!

Watched MtP last night. What a great man! Gives one pause and requires reflection when seeing what made a man like Tim Russert great.
