I'm not so sure I agree with the first part, but I definitely agree that he was more object than the rest at NBC. Part 2, is spot on.

He was one of the very few journalist that reported on political issues that I respected. He was very insightful and never appeared to have an agenda he was pushing...unlike Fox news.

It is a loss for journalism.

How VERY true. I read his books 'Big Russ and me' and 'Wisdom of our fathers'. A hell of a man.
