Saw this at the park. What's this?

Saw this at a park this past weekend. Just curious as to any specific meaning to it?

It looks like a Medieval Merry-go-round. You put the kids head in the noose (two required to maintain proper balance) and then spin them! Clearly designed before before the invention of the attorney.

You are kidding right??

Its the traditional midsummer pole in Scandinavia - not least here in Sweden. We dance silly dances around it. Preferably moderately-heavily intoxicated. Then we rape all the women between 15-20 years old. Then we burn a variety of objects as a sacrifice to our primitive gods.

All in good spirit and orderly fashion.

My best guess is that someone died there, and this cross is a memorial.

But, the two rings are confusing . . .

edit: I just had a "Eureka" moment! The cross and two rings could represent a marriage!

Um...guys...Livi wasn't joking...
Do a Google search on "Swedish solstice festival" and you'll see that pole all over the place.

Looks like the Swedes finally made it to SoCal

Same in Denmark, where most of my family are from. Yesterday was a big holiday there and they do all sorts of silly things...
