42,000 Dead

And not a single whimper from Shaun of the Dead, Kach22 or any of the other CSLOTMs who whoop & wail over the Iraqi death tolls.

Good.... you can link a % of the decline to people travelling less miles... the rest is noise (i.e. random)

Also, we lose more each year than we lost in the entire Viet Nam war from one thing, cigarette smoking. Have not heard the libs jumping up and down on that one either...

Actually they have been. Smoking is pretty much banned in all locations in CA now including most public beaches. I think I read that there's a measure pending someplace (Santa Monica maybe?) to actually illegalize smoking inside privately-owned residences.

Kalifornia might be the first half-communist/half-fascist governmental model in existence.

Don't worry Jeff, the more thinking they do for you, the more time you can spend watching reality TV and eating fast food.

Italy, Ireland, France, Germany, UK, Spain, Portugal and all the other European nations have gone smoke free....

It is a royal pain in the butt... but I am not sure we can blame Al Gore and the other liberals for that... C'mon guys... let's be serious.

Making the planet a smoke free zone would have such a net positive effect the event would show up on every historical timeline from now till the end of the earth.

Not realistic I suppose but true in theory.

A few thousand lose their jobs to save untold millions of current and future smokers from a horrible death. Seems like we're sending US children to die in a foreign land for a lesser cause than that!

There would be so many more people alive, that most of them would starve to death.

Yeah, who wants people to live longer? It means expensive gas and food for the rest of us. I think smoking should be mandatory starting in 8th grade.

No kiddin!

Why do we want policies that ENCOURAGE more people? Isn't six BILLION enough already?

Cripes, we have enough people on earth RIGHT NOW where if you stacked them on top of each other, they could reach to the moon and back 14 times (do the math).

Doesn't anyone else see this as a problem?
