Put up enough money (it was your side who came up with the bet idea) to make it worth my while to come to you or find a way to accept proof that protects me or shut the F*ck up.

I know you would do ANYTHING to weasel out of it and make us look bad.

If it works out with Tobra, I have $100 on the deal.

There a$$wipe, put up or shut up. And you have to prove that you were a lifetime member previous to 1 July 2008.

Sniper,

What smokes me is not that we saved their rear not once but twice, but the frogs have not ever paid back the bills that they owe us from WW1 yet!

In defense of the French...We'd have never won our revolutionary war without their help. Of course, like most nations, they were acting in their own interest when they did so. I wish the USA would do the same today. If Obama wins? Look for us to to look out for even less of our own interests.

This election makes me happy to be an old goat. No matter how it turns out, I don't have those many years left anyway.

What a bunch of wankers!

As I read through the thread, this seems to be the first mention of a bet...

Yet, RPKESQ says? "You and your ilk are the one who questioned my honesty and came up with the bet idea. "

Trolls...why don't I ever learn to ignore them? I pledge to do so, beginning now.
(At least on this thread. ;))

No Paul. Just one post before the one you quoted. I can't imagine how you missed it.

Tobra,

Me thinks that our frog PPOT member is as well not telling the truth. Want to go together and force the issue with a PPOT bet that would require him to prove that he is a NRA member? :)

Joe started it in his attempt to play a tough guy on the internet, in addition to his role as a Dr. Phil look-a-like. You guys are looking pretty sad. Happy Independence Day, thank a Frenchman.

Ah! Finally! A political thread! Consisting of some good old mud slinging and name calling. Entertaining! :D

I don't have to do ANYTHING to weasel out and make you all look bad. You are doing a superior job of that by yourselves. And now big bad Joeska is willing to be so brave with another $100. Wow, world traveler and all!

Ahh, some more garbage currency for the pot ($200 = 127.247 EURO). Anybody else among you big bad 'mericans got any balls (or at least balls bigger than $100)? After all I have to travel all the way to visit with you bunch of narrow-minded retards. Round trip will cost me at least $1500, so pony up all you big talkers.

And boys (tobra, m21sniper, joeska, pwd72s, rikao4), part of the deal, once we see how brave you all are with your money, is I'll expect a public apology on this forum. Don't pull a snowedman on me. That would just be too funny!

Now, any more takers or are you all such chicken *****s? Get yourself organized, put on your big-girl panties and commit to this or just STFU!

What you are smoking is good ***** if you believe the BS that you post. Try some historical research and stop repeating these fair tales just to make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

BTW, besides the French, England, Germany, Belgium, Italy and others also failed to pay their war debts to the US. Funny how you only mention the French.

Joeaksa 07-03-2008 08:16 PM

Its because only the frogs continue to crap on America anytime we need anything from them. When they are in need they get real friendly. The other countries listed above are generally our allies, while the frogs are... well, frogs and act as such.

Its a lot of fun to see you throw hissy fits on the internet! :)

No hissy fits from me, that is your modus operandi. I only try to set those that speak untruths straight. Are you still spouting the untruth about saving the French in two World Wars?

I will witness another of your hissy fits when you have to eat crow. Are you up for it? Or have you learned how to weasel out from snowedman?SmileWavy

Wow. That's some reading comprehension. How on earth do you not see what you don't want to see, even in black and white? Even when it's only millimeters from what you want to see and therefore clearly do see?

That's some pretty breath-taking cognitive dissonance.

I would have, and will, bet anyone here that RPK has been a lifetime member of NRA since before this thread. I've never met him or spoken to him off-line. Regardless of how you receive his personality, anyone who has ever read his posts here on any firearm-related discussion knows that he is seriously knowledgeable about guns and ammo. Unless of course you are wearing a butt-plug in each eye and only move them aside slightly to read your buddy's posts.

I'll bet anyone here for real cash and my record of paying bets here is solid. (If sometimes a little slow when I get killed, like Bush getting re-elected).

RPKQ...why so snippy with me..it was U who mentioned that we, Americans didn't know our world history.

Basically the USA did bail out the Europeans (FRENCH) with the Germans TWICE in the last century.

1. In 1917 the French Army muntinied because of heavy casulaties on the Western front due to inept military leadership. Not hat the Brits were any better btw. The french army went completely on the defensive and could nolonger be counted on to go on offensive. They were exhausted.

The coming of the fresh US troops pushed the exhausted Germans into captualation before they completey collapsed.

2. The Germans over ran France in May of 1940 in about 6 weeks, even though the French had a larger army with more tanks.and aeroplanes It was the US led Allies in June of 1944 that retook France from the Germans.

3. It was US capital and military protection after WW2 that has allowed France to remerge as second tier power.

The French are jealous of the Americans on one hand. They I imagine like Americans down to earthness and popular culture (Jerry Lewis?). They also don't like Americans stupid arrogance and lording it over them that they are subserviate to American policy. You might call that pride, or just not admitting to themselves or anybody else for that matter that they are in love with the idea of America.

AMERICA IS THE GREATEST NATION ON EARTH, or the best that has come along anyway. There are some very distinct reasons for this.

tabs 07-04-2008 01:24 PM

I too would bet RPKQ is an NRA member he is quite knowledgeable about English sporting guns.

However his patter shows indoctrination by French Socialist ideas, yet his behavior seems to be completely opportunistically capitalist in the best tradition of America materialism.

I'll wait why you screw up the courage to do the research. SmileWavy

I am sure i know more about the history of warfare than 10 of you put together frenchie.

France was decimated in WWI, a large part of the country overrun, and an entire generation of men slaughtered like cattle(largely by France's own incompetent generals)

France was completely overrun and a large % of them went so far as to turn traitor, with some of them actually fighting against the Allies in WWII.

You want to run your mouth about french bravery, go do it on a German site. I'm sure they'll be impressed. About the only people france scares are Green Peace activists. Maybe.

Not true at all.

It just would've taken a good deal longer.

We were only talking about the french.

Also, as far as i know, the UK did make it's final WWII repayment to the US just a couple years ago.

Cluelessness is your right. I wouldn't dare to infringe upon it.

Helping America win its freedom from GB eventually pushed France into BK and hastened the French Revolution. You can say thanks to the persuasive powers of Ben Franklin for that one.

Thanks Von Clausewitz.

I appreciate it.

If you don't think France supported the US Revolution in order to advance it's own aims against it's #1 historical foe and rival in order to solidify it's continental aspirations and positions, well then you're on drugs so effective only a pharmacist would be able to identify them.

Jim Richards 07-05-2008 03:34 AM

France's motives are irrelevant. The point is, now pay attention...the point is, their help was critical to the ultimate success of our revolution. We would still be drinking tea or warm beer without the Frenchie's help, so, please give them some slack. All the French bashing shows a complete lack of class and a serious case of cluelessness.

Happy Independence Day to us, thanks to France for helping, regardless of how it benefited you, and thanks to England, for eventually being a good sport about the whole thing! :)

m21sniper 07-05-2008 03:44 AM

To say that we would still be drinking warm beer and tea without the french is utterly ridiculous. Have you taken a look at the breadth and scale of the British empire lately?

But beyond that, American independence was inevitable. The US defeated the british on land using almost entirely American men and materiel my friend. The biggest contribution of france in the entire war was in blockading the british at Yorktown so that Cornwallis could not escape.

Forcing an early end to the war. Washington actually wanted to attack NY anyway...it was Rochambeau that convinced him to go South. The rest is history.

But make no mistake, the British were already defeated, whether Cornwallis escaped from Yorktown or not. The real struggle and moments of doubt had occured- and been overcome- long before the french had managed to provide much in the way of materiel or manpower support at all. It was the early dark years, the years that the US faced alone, that even made the rest possible.

It was only after the stunning AMERICAN victory at Saratoga (which, oh, by the way had followed a string of other American victories) that the french began to become openly and majorly involved.

France did what it did for france, not for America. (And it did so only because after Saratoga the American cause was seen to be a safe bet.) Which is why the US broke the alliance with france and signed a separate peace with the British.

John Adams commented that the Comte de Vergennes "means to keep his hand under our chin to keep us from drowning, but not to lift our head out of the water."

A very astute assessment, by all accounts.

BTW, were it not for the US victory in the revolution, there would have been no subsequent french revolution, certainly at least not when or how it historically happened. So by your logic one could say they'd still be eating cake if it weren't for us. Of course that's very abstract, and quite silly.

It would be much easier- and more accurate- to say that without the help of the US in WWII the whole of Europe and a good chunk of Asia would be eating weinerschnitzel.

Cluelessness, yeah, that's it.
