My daughter, the archer
You may recall my daughter's interest in archery from This link.
Well, she got her bow. It turns out there is an archery club six mile from my house. We paid them a visit, and she left with a zero let-off Genisus bow. And it cost less than ordering from Cabella's. She must be happy. She's been shooting every morning for a week. ![]() ![]()

Dont show that to the boyfriends. Might send them running before they even got close to the house!

I am curious why a compound bow to learn on over a recurve? Was it something the people at the archery club recommended? If so why? Maybe I am going in the wrong direction.
When my son wanted to mess with archery I instinctively purchased a recurve and told him he could work his way up to a compound once he mastered it.

Good! You have her wearing a three fingered glove and not one of those lame releases.

![]() seriously, it's because the Genisus is a zero let-off, infinate draw-length, variable draw-strength bow. What does all that mean? It means she can't outgrow the bow. In fact, it's so flexible everyone in the family can shot this bow. Everyone from her six-year-old brother to me. And the bow is low maintenance to boot. We don't have to worry about unstringing it to store it. Bottom line: It means she's having fun. And that means she'll be more inclined to stick with it.
