Good Montoya interview here

I get the impression he doesn't miss F1

That was great! Never heard of that before. Strange, though, that their main home page won't load in FireFox for me due to some sort of "compression error".

Maybe I'm biased because I'm an F1 fan, but I think Montoya's the best interview in NASCAR right now. He speaks his mind, although you can see he tries hard not to cuss.

My wife saw him from about 2 feet away during a CART race weekend and ever since I think he's been on her "list"

Last year at the NASCAR race in Joliet I was tuned into his radio. He was given team orders to let his teammate pass.

JPM [in mock-southern accent]: "Hell No!"

Crew Chief: "I did not copy."

JPM [in mock-southern accent]: "I said, I said, HELL NO!!!"

I loved it when he spun Busch under caution and was asked if it was intentional. He looked at the interviewer with a "are you serious?" look and said he did spin he intentionally. It is refreshing to hear a driver say something like that instead of some bs. How can anyone think a hit like that was not intentional? You hear stories like "he checked up and I may have touched him" all the time. Going 60 mph behind a pace car is just not that hard.

I met a couple of guys that used to race against him in the farm leagues working their way up. They said he was notorious for attempting to pass where you could not pass and making it work, a comment was then made about the substantial size of his attachments.

I think he is having a good time driving in NASCAR even though I think deep down he misses F1 cars, if you have ever seen trading paint where him and Jeff Gordon take turns driving a Cup car and his then Williams F1 car it is obvious which car was more fun to drive.

I know I will probably get flamed for this, I have driven much slower and poorer handling cars than my RX7, (oh man I am going to get it now) my 911 would be a perfect example, it did not stop accelerate or turn as good as my RX7 but it was still fun to "manage the beast" so I can understand what he is saying about how the cup car does not brake well nor corner well compared to a F1 car but its still fun.

He was a respectable driver in F1 and to be honest when I do tune into a NASCAR race I always check to see how he is doing.

That was an interesting interview and he confirmed what I suspected about McLaren and how uptight they are about image.

It was a good read.

It's cause the Apple headed morons made the front page in Acrobat. Firefox will load it fine but you need a current version of Acrobat reader installed. Dot to TOOLS, AD ONS & you should be good.

Finally an article that admits that F1 cars are the most technological automotives in the world.

Great interview.

I saw him at the CART race in Houston. When all the other drivers were doing slow first laps on the track, he was power sliding through the turns on his first lap. If you've ever seen one of the old 900+hp CART cars, you know what a challenge that can be. It was VERY impresive.

I kept waiting for him to say:
