I've had Navigon MobileNavigator with the Live Traffic add-on for a few months now.

I have a windshield mount and the Kensington Liquidaux (charging, audio out and remote control) so the iPhone audio goes through my car stereo w/line in. Still working on a clean install and resolving ground loop issues.

Made a mount for the remote, not sure I'll stick with it.

Last weekend driving from NJ to NY was like a scene out of a commercial: I queued up my news podcasts in a playlist, hit play, loaded up Navigon, selected the "Audio book" option for iphone control which automatically pauses audio during announcements (vs the music option which slightly mutes it.) It had me going through the Lincoln Tunnel, 20 minutes into the trip I hear "There are new traffic notices for your route." Click the traffic icon, it shows an alternate route over the GWB will save 20 minutes, select it, it recalculates, shows I'll be home at 8:20. I hold down the home button for voice control, say "Call home", it dials, hit speakerphone, "I should be home around 8:20", end call, navigation resumes, podcast resumes. Pretty sweet.

Looks like it doesn't give a HP # like Pocket dyno.... However the G #s will be cool. I will run it at the next autocross(Sunday) and report back.

Do we even want to know what that costs? My inner geek is in love though...

911Rob 01-07-2010 12:56 PM

Cool. Bring it on baby..........
I love it :)

porsche4life 01-07-2010 12:57 PM

You'll have to tell us about it Rob... Highly unlikely that I will be able to fit that in my budget this year...

911Rob 01-07-2010 01:04 PM

Ha, ha. I just emailed the link to my wife saying "I found my birthday present dear".... we'll see what she comes back with.

She's picked a caribbean cruise for her birthday this year, I'm really only interested in the Parrot to see my grandsons reaction to it; really.......

porsche4life 01-07-2010 01:11 PM

C'mon Rob... Admit it you would be entertained with it for a few hours at least...

911Rob 01-07-2010 01:16 PM

K. I will be ;)

I bought my son a really nice radio controlled airplane. Last time I saw the plane it was flying backwards in a steady 15 MPH westerly breeze.

In fine print on the owners manual it said the plane was good for about 10 MPH. Yes, son. Your daddy is a genius.

911Rob 01-07-2010 01:27 PM

Hey Moses,
A couple years ago I bought my grandson a really nice radio controlled 4x4 truck that would be able to handle the sandy beach at our cabin. He drove it straight into the lake  Ha, Ha. Serve me right for spending so much money on a 7 year old my wife said.

Funny stuff
Cheers,

porsche4life 01-07-2010 01:29 PM

Shoulda gotten balloon tires Rob. ;)

911Rob 01-07-2010 01:33 PM

they were like balloon tires; really good for sand.
you'll see it in it's box, looking brand new, when you visit ;)

porsche4life 01-07-2010 01:34 PM

One of my sons friends fashioned a "bluetooth" earpiece out of a pipe cleaner and a broken popsicle stick with a wad of aluminum foil at the end. When questioned he would tell people he was trying to fit in with the rest of the a**holes.
