I like darts and ibowl - My kids play motochaser and galaxyimpact

My daughter likes minipiano

I'm glad they finally got "speed" fixed - I use that in the boat and the car

I like Rick Free (game)

ebay and facebook applications. And AP mobile news,

Also like weatherbug - several locations also have current pictures

I also got "liedetector"

I haven't used it yet - but the kids know I have it on my phone - and that I will be able to tell when they are lying (just by pushing a button). At this point I would consider it effective... :)

Just got a 3G (upgraded from the 2G) yesterday and downloaded Track Day. Have a track event in 2 weeks @ SOW and will use this app and see how good it is. Will be using a transponder also for timing so I can compare the two. We will see if it was worth the $11.99

GPS Lite worked great last night on my evening lumber ( read as lineman running ;) ) and it was a free app. May buy the full version for $2.99

Several other apps have already been mentioned that are great. Had a recent trip to Oregon and had downloaded a bunch of shows for my 4-1/2 year old. Worked out great on the plane.

Hey Dan,
I'm really curious how well this one works.
I bought it anyway, but it looks like you'll get to try it out before me. I'm curious how it will compare with your transponder.

I've been using the Chinese text input too - pretty cool that this is native in the OS.

Well since China is its homeland it better speak it. :p

If anyone is interested, I made myself a (in my opinion) very cool, solid, and 911 specific iPhone car mount.

Okay, back from my track day and the app "Track Day" worked great! It was in 1/10th of a second vs the transponder = or - each lap. Pretty damn good I say.

My only real gripe and this is big is there is no way to save or download the info when done. Something they say they are working on.

Just bought the iNAVx - Marine Navigation - for $49.99 it more than replaced a stand alone hand held (cost $269.99) And has the ability to email my position - very cool - downloads charts on the fly.

Software version 2.2.1 now downloaded. Anybody know if it does anything cool yet?

slodave 01-31-2009 11:14 PM

Cool does not happen at this level of release...

porsche4life 01-31-2009 11:21 PM

Dan: You might try RunTracker - there is a free version. It's made for running, but I have casually tested it in my car and it seems accurate.

It allows uploading of speed, time and elevation data to the www.runtracker.com site where all of your data is logged and viewable in graph form and on a Google map.

FWIW.

Has anyone else played flight tracker? It's amazingly simple yet extremely addictive

kstar 03-30-2009 11:10 PM

Skype for iPhone is live in the US right now!

MiataR 03-31-2009 05:49 AM

My current favourite App: AppSniper. It's a bargain finder app for the App store and tells you which Apps are on sale. I've pretty much given up checking the AppStore anymore, and use this religiously. Even better, I believe that there's now a free version available (AppSniper Lite?)...

HHI944 03-31-2009 06:33 AM

The guy that developed appsniper and the game cubes is on another board I frequent. Great products from a talented individual.

MiataR 03-31-2009 07:11 AM

Oh yeah... I forgot about Cubes. Most underrated game on the store... I am so addicted it's sad.

HHI944 03-31-2009 07:33 AM

I spent almost an entire Saturday playing that game.

Most used app: tie between AP and gym buddy

Favorite app for killing a few minutes: pocket god

Have you tried it yet? Seems like a lot of people are having issues. I'm not sure I want to download it yet.

slodave 03-31-2009 12:31 PM

OK, downloaded it and signed on without a crash...

Anyone one to give it a try...
