The Contessa is one sexy car

The Contessa (not official name yet) at the Waterford Race Track in Michigan, back on September 12, 2007 on Ferrari Track day.

It's a new car from California called the "Contessa". The owners son was driving it, dad put up the seed money and I guess it's always been his passion in life to build fast sexy cars.

It's powered by a Chevy 502 up front. I was told that this was it's first time out on a track. It only did a couple of laps, but my party missed the first 1-1/2 hours of track time and it may of gotten out there before us, I can't say for sure.

It's about time I posted these, Dutch at AutoWeek passed on them way back then.

Video (does it work?):

Very nice retro 60's sports car look, I like it... doubt I could afford one thought.

It is pretty, I'd love one!

If you HAD to criticise something then maybe the rear wheels look a bit too far forward, and the roof line at the back needs to start tapering down sooner and more gradually to take some of the convex look away?

I don't know, you'd be hard pushed to criticise it to be honest.

Something just isn't right to me. Its like a Daytona Coupe had a ugly love child with a E type.

Its front is to long, or its ass is too big. I'm not sure what one, but it just feels off to me.

Looks like someone's re-interpretation of the 280Z/Ferrari GTO kit:

And the front windshield is suspiciously C5-looking:

Dunno.. it sort of reminds me of a cross between the Jaguar E-type and the Ferrari's back in the 60's...

It's in the link to my Photobucket album, I took over 20 pictures.

There is a walk-around video in the link above. If you cannot view it, I'll try posting it on YouTube for you.

Looks good, but with a 502 and the speed that probably entails, I wonder about the high speed stability. Looks like it needs more tail and some sort of front splitter. I can imagine that thing getting really hairy up over 140 or 150.

I like it, but it definitely looks like a classic Ferrari imitation. Still, if I had the ability to make my own car, that's not a bad result.

It looks a bit unfinished. The spark plug wires through the cowl hood is a bit much. Maybe they needed custom fit plug wires. The interior, while simple, is very bland. If you're going to go with bland, then go with something even more spartan. I like simple, but you can still make simple look good.

Still, I think it's pretty cool.

Someting like the Elise interior would work.

The interior of the Contessa (unofficial name) is not it's strongest aspect. Kind of GM bland, does not match the fluid curves of the exterior.
