Whats up HD? You at a conference or something?
The Brits I work with are generally very nice people. They have the same incidence of Richard Craniums that we do. But if you get to know them they are the real deal.

Yeah, this was posted last night at a celebration dinner (that iphone is an addictive little bugger). Its sad really. These events are always at some fantastic restuarant, with plenty of good drink on hand. Last night we were right on the water in Seattle (Lake Union).
But after you have known the same people for years and years, and went to events and partys at least 4 times a year with them, it gets old. They (brits) get choosen to run the events because compared to the rest of the egghead doctors, they really are chaming! At least they understand the concept of a joke, and this mysterious thing called 'irony' that seems to elude most Americans. No hit on the Brits. Most I know are great folks, and very nice to work with.

British people can say the nastiest things, and it sounds ok because of their accent.

Drunks, of any nationality, tend to be less than "funny" "interesting" or "charming" than they believe they are. I have several other words to substitute for the descriptive ones.
Brits are great!!! a completely unbiased opinion.

![]() I perhaps should not have singled out Brits. But it was an odd night, and the first 5 people presenting awards happened to be from the UK. An iphone, vodka tonic and boredom, a volatile mix to be sure.

Every Brit I have met I instantly like, I love their dry humor, and they all seem to love to laugh and be optimistic persons.

If HD can make it to Porsches on the Dragon...
He has a point though. Obviously I've spent a lot of time around drunken Brit's and I guess it gets a bit wearing after a while, especially if they have to give speeches. We do love to go on a bit after a few...

" Every Brit I have met I instantly like, I love their dry humor, and they all seem to love to laugh and be optimistic persons" I know some Brits that couldn't be like that if their life depended on it and when drunk are worse. Did I mention I don't like dealing with drunks? Of course, some Americans aren't perfect either. And NO, the 900SP is not for sale...........

"Hey! How much for that 900SP?" Going for the optmistic, followed by dry humor and lots of laughing? Anyway, I think Hard Drive wants one.............

As a Brit myself (born & raised there, moved here in '94) I must say most Americans think I'm either an Aussie or a Kiwi. Maybe if my name was Charles Worcester Widdicombe the third, and I said stuff like 'Spiffing' and 'Jolly good show', they'd get it?
Most Brits are alright. Yanks too! Cheers, Paul. P.S. What is a 900SP?

An 900SP is a Ducati super sport of mid 1990s vintage. To my mind, one of the finest looking machines they have ever made. Mark happens to have a nice example of one. ![]()

I know tons of Brits and you are correct:
1. Nice ones, are honestly *******s. Fakes and no reason to be so arrogant. 2. The tough ones, are awesome. I hang out with a few that are very international (ex-pats), and are friends for life. All of my friends have lived around the world, ex- rugby or soccer players/fans, ex holligans, etc... Nothing better than going to the Rugby 7's and having your mates worried that the security will TRULY recognize them and have them arrested on spot for past sins... ![]() Buddy of mine that I am hanging out with, use to race Damon Hill on bikes in High school. Go figure.
